"Great Staff, Dreadful Stay"
Let’s start with the positives: Shannon and her colleagues were an absolute delight — friendly, professional, and determined to help. Shannon, in particular, went above and beyond. She remained cheerful and proactive, even as everything fell apart around her. The only reason this stay wasn’t a total disaster. Now the negatives: Premier Inn has somehow managed to design one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in — narrowly beating a run-down Etap in France. Check-in was frustrating: both self-service machines were broken. Thankfully, Shannon was there to assist and make the process bearable. Room conditions? Awful. No airflow — the windows don’t open, so stale (and worse) smells linger. Especially if the past guest was pungent! The only ventilation comes from an aircon unit that turns off every 30 minutes and resets to 26°C. Additionally its forced into Eco mode ... so might as well be turned off. Result? Warm, stuffy, stale-smelling air, and a bathroom with no proper vent. Shannon actually built us a fan, which helped a bit. Cleanliness was poor. There were open bottles of water and other items left in the fridge from a previous guest. Shower seals were mouldy and clearly overdue for replacement. Again, not the reception teams fault — just poor housekeeping and maintenance. Then the main event: Premier Inn - Thunderdome Escape room! No power No water At 2:30 AM, a loud pop, enough to wake me... then complete darkness, no phone charging, everything off. By 5–6 AM, even the emergency lighting had failed, leaving the hotel in an oddly smoky, pitch-black conditions. See the picture below! No water meant no flushing toilets or hygiene tasks could be done. Staff handed out bottled water and stayed calm and helpful — the only functional part of the experience. Breakfast? The restaurant was closed to check stock. I later heard they brought in fresh supplies to reopen, but it was too late — my partner and I had already left to find food elsewhere. And to top it all off? A fire alarm evacuation Sunday morning. Just what we needed after a night with no sleep and no breakfast. Summary: A deeply uncomfortable and chaotic stay, plagued by poor room conditions, hygiene issues, and a complete infrastructure failure. The building is not fit for guests. Only the staff — especially Shannon — kept things from completely falling apart.
"No air con or running water"
Stayed here on Friday night room looked dirty needs refurbishing then at 3.30am the aircon went off no windows that open so room was red hot, awake all night tried have shower at 6am so could leave but no running water, terrible night, never use a premier inn again,
"Really poor experience overall"
Really poor experience overall. Disinterested untidy staff members, missing bedding for the third bed, single bath towel provided for three guests. Room and communal areas generally tired looking.
"Solo Stay for a Friend’s Graduation"
This Premier Inn is a short walk from Nottingham Train station, so ideal! The hotel itself is close to most things, the university, the market square, the restaurants and pubs etc. Quick and smooth check in, with a very spacious room and big bed. A lovely bathroom with a good sized bath with rainfall shower head which was well presented and clean. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear a lot, and there are roadworks / development by the path near my window, so could hear the work going on until early hours in the morning. Not ideal for when you need a decent sleep for the next day to travel back and do a 12hr shift. Luckily I was on the first floor, so not a lot of steps as the lift seemed to take forever to come. Other than that, a lovely visit and thank you for having me.
"Good stay"
Short stay staff friendly to talk to,rooms clean beds very comfortable to sleep in ,i would like to stay here again when I come to visit .
