"Full hotel rebuild starting, avoid"
Have been staying here regularly for six years, this was the last. Hotel due to be fully renovated, be prepared for actual building knock downs, rebuilds and lots of inconvenience from rebuild noise, parking and lack of facilities. It’s already started yet no mention of this online when you book. The restaurant is closed to the public therefore only for hotel guests, lack of service, lack of fresh hot food and NO ambience as the ‘restaurant’ is also part of the changes and already partly boarded off inside. It’s certainly not worth staying here whilst all the works take place, regardless of their reassurances it’s not true. Also sooooo much noise from noisy corridor doors, no point maintaining a building being run down purposely. No prior warning the road shut also, major diversion to even access the hotel. Shame was a gem but will be staying elsewhere now,
"Good hotel awful restaurant."
Great if you don’t want to eat. The restaurant was awful. Couldn’t get a table for 40 minutes (despite reception saying to go over whenever) and there were only 5 other occupied tables, the rest were empty but still made to wait in the bar for 40 mins. First 2 food choices for my husband weren’t available, the second they didn’t tell us until we’d been waiting over an hour! Took us over 2 hours to get food after a 4 hour drive. Breakfast was worse! Ended up with just granola as the pastries were black and hard!
"Disgusting. Aviod this hotel."
This hotel room was awful. Dirty, worn and made my skin crawl. Blood on the toilet, a dirty fan blowing, skirting boards coming away from the wall, umwashed glasses, a hole in the wall by the door, broken lampshade, stained curtains, worn carpet...see pictures. How this was cleared for customer use is beyond me.
"Bland, no air con & horrid bathroom"
I had the misfortune of staying here as I couldget anywhere else for my budget. The receptionist was clueless. The car park was very small and has numerous disabled bays but the markings are so faded you can't tell if they are genuine disabled spots or not. Trying to ask the girl at reception abouy it but she just look blank and said' I don't know'. The room was dull. No pictures and you couldn't have the window open due to the road noise just a few metres away. Only 1 bedside cabinet shelf next to a double bed in family room. A hot summers night and there's no air con. The elrctric radiator had peeling paint and was all rusty too. The bathroom smelt that nasty damp smell and every single metal item was rusted - light, shower, shower curtain pole, soap dispenser even the doot hinges. Shower curtain and tiles had black mould too. Walls are so thin as next door's alarm woke us up at 6am the next day. You can hear next door's phone call conversations at 11pm too.
"Not the usual premier standard"
We use premier inn regularly. On this occasion we were disappointed. The room it self and staff were good. However the A/C wasn't working but we had no prior notice of this. We booked this hotel because it had A/C. We understand things go wrong and that can't be helped but prior notice would have been nice. The WiFi also wasn't working that evening. Breakfast was poor purely to the lack of staff one poor guy was trying to do everything. Resulting in the food being cold by the time we got it and the continental selection being empty. Not the usual standard of a Premier Inn
