Nottingham Castle Marina hotel

Very disappointing- bathroom was dirty. Room not made up properly. Not enough towels for all guests. Breakfast not available. Building site next to the hotel impacting carpark and clearly very under staffed.

Stayed here a few times but never written a review but thought the staff should get a shoutout. The lovely girls always serve are group and it’s always an enjoyable experience. Aleena and Lucy are a credit to your team.

Location is good. Room was decent overall with comfortable bed and good air-conditioning. However room wise there was black mould in the shower, a lot of it in the white sealant all around the base of the shower. Unacceptable. Remote control only allowed the sound go up to a certain point which was too low. I am all for sound limits. However a think it's too limited. What was much more an issue was the service or lack of it. As well as the food quality. I appreciate it is a bidge hotel. But no one in reception, ringing the bell for over 10min and no airncon in reception certainly wasn't the best first impression. Then the attitude about it all was less than impressive. Staff kept congrgating in the bar restaurant area so reception wasn't manned on most occasions. Had a few angry arrivals also expressing there disappointment. Asked foe my room to be cleaned as was staying 2 nights and put the door signage out too. Returned to new towels which I didn't need and my plate of now old food and dirty glassware still in the room! I was not impressed. Had to dial reception and of course no answer. The food too was not great. The chicken wings which should be super easy to do came out grey, barely cooked eith bbq sauce on the side but no effort to base them while cooking. Was told they had no grilled to do that!?? Get an airfryer- takes a few minutes ans come out crispy and attractive looking! Ordered two starters so chicken wings ans small Ceasar salad. Not salad arrived until after I had the wings? When ai specifically asked them together. Then the salad was a large one not the starter and with no cheese. Had to ask for the cheese and they wanted to charge me for that!? It was on the list of ingredients!! Really not great at all! Had to sort it all out as they had no clue ehat they were doing. Breakfast was a bit better but cold as heating lights useless, but the eggs were good when you could find the chef, as sitting on her phone with the other staff in the bar area. What a disappointment as usually Premier Inns can be really lovely and the staff super friendly and very good. Shame about this one as way below standard! We definitely not be staying again and ensure our business never use them again.

Very poor experience. Booked a Premier Plus room. Carpet in the passageway outside the room was stained with what looked like a bleach spillage. Room had a constant unpleasant drain smell - shower unit black with mould along the bottom. Coffee machine not working at breakfast for all 5 days of our stay. And no cooked breakfast on the last day as they had no chef.
