"We arrived as Customers - Left as friends"
With a group of ten "recyled teenagers" we spent a week at the Premier Inn, Berwick, for our annual group holiday. The Hotel has obviously been recently refurbished, and was very clean and everything worked as it should. All the floors were served by two lifts, which meant that there was very little waiting time. We had a mixture of twin, and family rooms. Our room was a twin room with double bed, and quite the best shower I've ever found in a hotel. The room was also equipped with plenty of plug sockets, some with USB ports so necessary in this day and age, even for Senior Citizens. The hotel is located at the bottom end of the town, right by the waterfront and harbour, and right by the City Walls, which make an excellent walk. We mostly ate at the hotel using the excellent "Meal deal", which provides a great breakfast, so much choice it was impossible not to overeat, and for dinner two courses from a menu that again had lots of choices of well prepared food, and a drink. Try to avoid having the Choclate Sundae every night, but do have it at least once! All this for £27 pounds, what's not to like? So far I've gone on about the hotel, which was excellent, but the real stars of the show were the staff. They were GREAT, right from the off when we went in and they carefully explained everything, to everyday, when they cheerfully answered our questions, were genuinely interest in what we 'd been doing and kept us entertained with their banter to the goodbyes. I've never met such a great team. If Premier Inn have a team of the year award this lot fully desreve it. As you can tell we had a great time, and would happily go back again.
"Excellent stay lovely staff"
Very comfortable bed spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Great breakfast too lovely poached eggs to order. Great location we had a lovely walk around the wall and quay after breakfast. The most outstanding are the fabulous staff....cheery, helpful, professional and knowledgeable. Nothing was a bother. Thoroughly recommended thank you so much for a great stay
"Comfortable Stay in a Great Location"
We stayed at the Premier Inn in Berwick-upon-Tweed for a visit to Bamburgh Castle and found it to be in a great central location—ideal for exploring the surrounding area. We booked a premium room, which was cosy, spotlessly clean, and had everything you'd expect for a good night's sleep. There were a couple of small drawbacks: the internet was on the slower side, and while it wasn’t noisy overall, we could hear some movement from the room above. That said, it didn’t spoil the stay and we’d happily return for the convenience and comfort.
"Gorgeous mini break with my mam"
Just stayed here with my mam for 2 night and what a place and experience it was, laura the member of staff was amazing so friendly and welcoming really made my stay. The rooms a spacious and good views. Definitely will be back, the breakfast was lovely and fresh too.
"Not for us"
Not the easiest of places to find if you prefer the convenience of a premier inn straight off a main road. The parking was convenient but not on site. The hotel itself felt very .....small. The lady checking us in could not be more pleasant and helpful and the room - a premier plus- was lovely and spacious. We had an evening meal but this is where the experience went downhill. The hotel is so small the dining area is literally in the same area where people check in/out and wasn't comfortable. I'd like to say the food was nice but it wasn't. The prawn cocktail starter had a real after twang to it that just tasted off. The main course - smothered chicken - was a complete disappointment. Not only did it look like half a chicken breast but the sauce tasted like tomato sauce - though it looked like BBQ - and the tiny strip of bacon and teensy bit of cheese on top, did nothing to disguise the taste. We had pre booked breakfast but left without having it due to the food experience at dinner and the location of the dining area. Would certainly not stay here again but I must repeat that the staff were brilliant.
