"Evening in Alnwick"
Firstly Good location walkable into Alnwick - Coffee nice and Breakfast selection
Our room was clean but had no freshness smell to it -
We paid for breakfast- met by waiter in trainers not good look for restaurant and then just pointed to a table in the corner on the far side
While sitting I noticed how dusty the window sills were - the chairs also one next to me had remnants of something all down the side but looks that it had been there more than a day
I don’t appreciate cleaning spay used while iI am eating - surly when cleaning a table spray the dirty cloth your using !! Then wipe
Sorry to pick

"Disappointing Visit"
Stopped here for two nights as we were stopping for a wedding.
Well what an absolute disaster!!
After a 5 hour journey we were greeted by a very rude receptionist, definitely needs some customer service training! To be told the kitchen was shut and we would have to go out for a meal - we were given a list of places local but no indication of if it was a pub or hotel etc. I said oh no that’s a shame why is the restaurant shut was told ‘can’t you read the sign on the door’ with an eye roll!!
We had three rooms booked all in the same booking ref and were put on three separate floors. The room on the ground floor was tiny, no where to put clothes and bathroom really small.
When we got to our room there was two of us and we had one hand towel in the whole bathroom.
Breakfast was nice however such a small place only around 11 tables so dread to think what it’s like when it’s busy. Staff were run off their feet one bloke doing the whole of breakfast service.
Overall a really disappointing visit and won’t be returning back to this Premier Inn.

"Weekend at Premier Inn"
Hotel was clean and functional, however, on a 3 night weekend stay there was no housekeeping, unless you requested it by a certain time the day before.
Location was good just outside of Alnwick, good travel links with the A1.
Food was somewhat disappointing, we paid for breakfast and dinner. Full hotel but offered a limited menu. Breakfast was good.
Clearly understaffed, some of which lacked communication skills. As an example we were not initially told about upgrades and my husband had the steak and although was told it was extra was not told when or where to pay for it. We finished our meal and went back to our room, 5 minutes later there was a knock at the door and the waitress telling us that we hadn’t paid for the upgrade to the steak meal. Husband went down to pay for it and was then told he had to pay extra for his beer. Next evening we were given a sheet with all the upgrades on it, On Saturday night me and my husband ordered at the same time, his starter arrived and almost at the end of his meal I had to ask where mine was, On Sunday night we went down to dinner but wasn’t on their booking sheet. Most of the staff were very busy but pleasant.
Good venue but you just have to take things as they come,

"Good location but staff seemed undermanned."
Hotel in a good location close to A1 and Alnwick and local shops, hotel room was functioning and had everything we needed, had the meal deal but wasn’t fully explained on arrival, food was ok but service was slow seems to be a bit understaffed.

"If this place is the future of Premier Inn then Premier Inn has no future."
This is one of the new style with a "Thyme" restaurant which PI seem to want to have everywhere.
Arrived around 1700 to be told that they they were not serving dinner except for those who had pre-booked. Manager hadn't known about it until a couple of hours before. There was also a notice (not new) to this effect. Anyway we got free breakfast next morning as compensation. Free? They should have been paying us to eat it! We had to wait for a cook to turn up and cook bacon and eggs. The sausages were among the worst we've ever had, the bacon tasteless. The bread for the toast very low quality, croissants crusty and heavy, pain au chocolat ... painful. Other guests were in agreement.
You have to ask for the room to be serviced. Incidentally they don't know how to put a flat sheet on the bed and if there are two of you then you need to ask for extra towels, evidently they don't know two guests are arriving despite that being on the booking.
We had an accessible plus room and that was OK but the drain cover in the shower was loose and the shower head maximum height too low to stand under - other than that good for disabled apart from a very low bed. Specification as advertised.
On the second evening, "due to unforseen circumstances" no evening meal (same notice as the night before). Actually that no longer mattered, we had found a good "elsewhere" and after that breakfast wouldn't have wanted to sample the evening meal. The second morning we went elsewhere for breakfast.
And the kicker? The prices had doubled for half the quality.
