Northampton South (Wootton) hotel

Brought my girls here for a little get away as a mid stop to devon!! The warm welcoming we got from Brooke was to die for. My girls adored her and kept begging me to take them back and speak to her. Then in the morning they were gutted she wasn’t working. What a fab worker you have there, not only making the whole check in process easy and helpful but then also being such a genuine kind soul who really infected us with her happiness. We ate in the Queen Elanor and it was great, the staff were lovely! The beds were so comfy!! My girls had the best time and so did I!! Great stay. Top tips, request ground floor room in the heat, it’s so cool and comfortable!!!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and although we were near the road noise wasn’t a problem. We booked an accessible room so we had a wet room which was a good size. Great value for money on the night we booked in. The Queen Eleanor pub next door was very busy as the weather was lovely and people were using the beer garden but our food was served in good time.

Had a lovely stay for the 1st 2 nights and all staff on duty were pleasant, friendly and professional. On final morning, getting breakfast was ridiculous. Food was coming out in stages so could not get a meal with everything on your plate. The chef Anna was rude and body language aggressive when we asked simple questions about when the food would be ready. I understand she was probably under pressure but treating paying customers in that way is unacceptable. We asked and received a refund from reception sraff and spoke to on duty manager jo who was at the time apologetic and understanding and agreed that the chefs attitude had already been noted and were going to pull her off the station if it continued. After that Jo James and Anna were seen laughing in the kitchen and so I approached Jo for all their names so I could complain and I said im pleased you think the situation was funny. Jo denied she was laughing at the situation. I would never stay here again after this experience despite the other staff being a credit to this hotel.

We were going to the live at the abbey festival in Northampton, on arrival we were greeted at reception by a lovely lady who was very helpful and pointed us to a table of festival goodies ( glasses,garlands etc) and told us to help ourselves free of charge … (which we thought was a lovely gesture)…. We then had a lovely meal in the adjourning hungry horse before we headed out for a great night at the abbey, before returning for a great nights sleep in a lovely clean room…. All in all a 5☀️experience at this hotel👌🏼
