York North West hotel

Rooms were very shabby, dirty and not renovated, the camp bed my son slept on was uncomfortable and had a stained sheet on it covered by the pillow. There was no receptionist when we arrived and the check in did not include the car check in which was in a different area. When we forgot to check the car in no-one helped with the potential of getting a ticket. I wouldn't use this premier inn again.

This hotel is lovely and the staff are very helpful - the location is good and we found it easy to get in and out of the city. This hotel does not have air conditioning, we visited during a heatwave so our nights weren’t very restful. Not the fault of the staff, but something to keep in mind if booking in summer!

I am giving this a lower rating solely because of the worn out appearance of this premier inn and the lack of air conditioning, which whilst I know it’s expensive it’s definitely a necessity. The room didn’t get below 28 degrees for most of our stay and although we were given fans , they just moved the hot air around. The carpets were very old and dirty and there were spots of mold , the paint work was scratched and looked old. I will say on a big positive that the staff were excellent , particularly Zeph , she sorted out a mistake in the booking that wasn’t due to them and compensated me greatly

Hotel incredibly tired . Rooms very dirty . Bordering on uncleaned. Cobwebs everywhere. Skirtings filthy . Breakfast very cold . Staff however were great . Really disappointed as we use hotel very often. And it's declining rapidly .

I went with my mum for a short weekend getaway to York, as we were going to the Doll House Exhibition at York Race Course on the Sunday. My mum is in crutches, and the staff at Premier Inn couldn't do enough for her and me. There was a lift which was a huge relief as my mum relies on things like that for her mobility. The room was spotless, the building was secure and everyone was friendly. It was a really good deal, I felt, from Friday night to Sunday morning. Value was great. The noise level was none existent, and even with the hotel at the side of a motorway, we didn't feel disturbed at all which is great. The location was perfect. By car, I think it was 10-15 minutes to the center of York. Really friendly atmosphere. Amenities were great, vending machine downstairs was useful when we required water ASAP!
