York North West hotel

Stayed here many times, but the place has really gone downhill. It desperately needs shutting down and having a total refurb. The bathroom had mouldy grout, rusty towel rail, the soap dispenser was also rusty and the container was really grimy, cracked bath along the base. There was blood on the shower curtain. The bar has been stripped down to the bare minimum on the drinks front. The bar area was dirty, I cleaned tables and it actually looked no better than a sixth form lounge area. We didn’t eat there. The only good thing was the staff who were lovely who looked like they were trying to make the most of a bad job. Such a shame as it used to be busy in previous years.

It was ok for a Premier Inn but as a single female travelling on business didn’t like that it was obviously more of a contractors hotel. It was a bit tired although clean. It has an onsite restaurant but didn’t use it. It would a last resort next time I stay in York

With free parking and available twin beds if an accessible room is booked this hotel is excellent for an overnight stay for older people. Although dinner is not served on site, the Doormouse pub is a couple of minutes walk and the way is well lit at night. The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. Breakfast was above the expected Premier Inn standard and the hot meal cooked to order. The hotel is immaculate - clean and hygienic. Premier Inn have comfortable beds and heating which can be modified to a guest's wishes. The wet room shower drained rather too slowly but it was not a problem. The accessible room was adjacent to one other one , on the ground floor and unusually quiet due to the double doors leading to them. The fire exit was next to the rooms. The location of the hotel is quiet with trees and parkland surrounding the buildings. Wifi is not the fastest when a lot of guests go online but early morning and early evening were fine. The nearby (1 mile away) park and ride gave easy access to York city. All round the best Premier Inn to have stayed in due to the staff on duty during this visit.

Very tired facility , room urgently needs refurb . Bathroom grout mouldy , soap dispensers grimy - not been cleaned for awhile . Radiator /towel rail very rusty . Waited 1hour 10mins for evening meal , when it came both meals were luke warm at best - complained and meals were voided ! It seems staff levels kept to the very minimum. Good location for York and the Park and Ride excellent . Premier Inn parking good. Perhaps the Whitbread CEO and Operations Exec team would like to stay at this venue and see how poor their offering is !

After using Premier inns over the years, sadly I was very disappointed with this hotel.. I travelled from Hampshire only to find the EV chargers had been disconnected.. This hotel is advertised to have two working EV points.. Neither of them were connected and hadn’t been for sometime. As requested, our used towels were left in the shower to indicate we’d like fresh towels.. When we went back to our room our used towels were still in the same place, without fresh ones in sight.. we then had to go and collect them from reception… We found breakfast very disorganised.. There weren’t any napkins in sight and limited clean tea spoons near the drinks machine in the dining area.. it wasn’t as though breakfast was exceptionally busy. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room was not up to usual standards.. The bathroom looked outdated and the curtains weren’t particularly clean & our tea & coffee hadn’t been replenished over the 3 nights we stayed
