"Premier York"
Great place to stay, breakfasts were lovely, though they needed more staff in the restaurant to keep up with demand. Comfortable bed, great shower, TV, easy check in and check out Will definitely go again.
"Bad experience again"
Travel for business. I used to use York City (Blossom St North) hotel but gave up after being provided with a disgusting room. Decided to try York City (Blossom St South) hotel ( after all teh meals for both are provided in the Blossom St South restaurant. NOT impressed. Restaurant failed to produce peppercorn sauce for steak I had ordered despite a polite reminder. Room was clean (but tired) Window fastenings were broken. TV worked in an odd fashion i.e. when you turned it off is frequently turned back on again and ALL pillows were hard. Most worryingly the switches on the hairdryer did not function correctly and it would turn off / on depending on the position you held it in. I reported it and was treated with disdain and told it was a 'design flaw'. I asked for someone to look at it for safety reasons. When I got back in the evening nothing had been done and it still worked in a defective fashion . Until a couple of years ago Premier Inns were clean consitent and reliable. They are not any more and the disregard for an electrical safety concern is deeply worrying.
"Comfortable with good location."
Visit annually. Good location close to railway station and on bus route. Some nice restaurants and pubs nearby. Comfortable room and user friendly shower. Continental breakfast okay though could be chaotic when busy. One or two more staff on duty would not go amiss.
"OK stay but could be improved"
Premier Inn rooms are pretty standard and this was no different, good double glazing, aircon, comfortable bed. Kettle with mugs (yey!) but I'd bring your own tea bags/coffee sachets if that's your thing. Our shower was broken but was fixed within 30 mins of reporting which was good. Breakfast quite good but we also had dinner one night and it was very poor - only 2 members of staff on duty for restaurant & bar. Drinks took 25 mins, dinner 50 mins and one dish was awful but the message from the chef was "it was packaged that way". Staff were very nice but there's not enough of them and no apparent management around. A good base for seeing York, staff trying their best.
"Dirty rooms."
Dirty rooms never been cleaned properly in months! Dust on light fittings, black mold around windows, stains on carpet , rusty shower screen, totally disgusting hygiene standards.
