York City (Blossom St South) hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights the hotel was clean and the staff were lovely and friendly it’s situated not far from the town centre with plenty of bars and restaurants would recommend

This hotel is a great place to stay in York. Conveniently next to the train station, and a 15-minute walk to York Minster and other attractions in the city centre. There are plenty of pubs, breakfast places on Blossom Street, and a Sainsbury's Local within a 2-minute walk. The staff at this hotel are fantastic (especially the nice young chap at reception!), and the room I stayed in was spotlessly clean. I received emails/notifications four weeks in advance that the lift was out of service and it will take me longer to get to my room. Plenty of time and notification if I needed to move to another hotel, and change travel accommodation, etc. I was very kindly offered assistance with my luggage as I was staying on the third floor (top floor). My Premier Plus room was massive and had plenty of space! Very clean as well, and a window that I was able to open. Super comfy bed and great shower! A shame about the lift not working as many other guests voiced their concerns about having to climb stairs, but in a busy hotel like this one, these things do happen unfortunately! The staff did the best they could in this situation.

This hotel is desperately in need of a refurbishment. My room was grubby and damp with condensation running down the windows. The bathroom did not have any heating or a fan so it was cold and damp which meant that my towels never dried out. Public areas have stained carpets and marked walls. Rooms are not serviced unless you ask. I would not recommend staying here.

Really enjoyable stay overall. The hotel was in a great location for exploring York and everything felt easy and convenient from check-in onwards. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed lived up to the usual Premier Inn standard - had a very good night's sleep! Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the stay and the hotel felt calm and well organised. A few small areas could perhaps do with refreshing, but nothing that negatively affected the trip. Would happily stay here again!

We always go to Premier Inn but this time it was very disappointing . We paid extra for Premier Plus rooms on the top floor but lift not working for the duration of our stay.Up and down 6 flights of stairs several times a day, not happy when you are over 70 yrs old. Lack of staff, long waiting times and they ran out of lots of items including ice cream. We will be looking for alternative accommodation for our next stay.
