"Spot on as always."
As always this hotel is perfect. Its in a great location and easy to find. The reception is clean and welcoming, we need a lift for the wheelchair and I requested a room close by and we were on the 1st floor. Nothing is too much trouble. The room looks newly refurbished and it was lovely, clean and the bed is comfortable as always. The bathroom was clean and shower amazing. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
"Disappointing"
Just checked in and looking to get dinner. Not enough chefs on tonight so I’ll need to got elsewhere. It looked ok though 🤣
"Solid Option"
Solid stay at a great rate and in a very nice location. Just out of the main tourist area and therefore quieter. Lovely staff. I didn’t make use of the restaurant as there are many great options nearby.
"Service is non existent"
I’ve been coming here for years with business and I can’t believe how bad the service is now. For 2 out of the 3 evenings had to wait for over 5 minutes (10 the first night) for a table and the breakfast service was no better - waited ages to be seated. Breakfast is meant to start at half 6 and got down by 7 and the hot food wasn’t even out. Shame as it’s such a great location but it feels nobody cares anymore
"Average in every way"
Standard twin room fine, comfy bed, extra pillows. No glasses for water, fresh milk £5(!), so we popped round to Sainsbury’s. Cooked breakfast overdone, staff good, average in every way otherwise. You can do better in York, so avoid this place.
