York City (Blossom St South) hotel

We always stay here when we come to York. Excellent location, very close to the train station and only a short walk into the centre. The staff were lovely, unfortunately there weren't many of them so sometimes the wait at the was a little bit longer than we would have liked. A special mention for Phil who was friendly and professional.

Arrival was fine, room was lovely, view is as expected as you are on the street. Air con / heater kicking in at 5am wasn’t welcomed even though I’d turned that off at the wall before sleeping! After service hasn’t been great as I left an item there that has a tracker on it, it shows it still been there, magically the staff can not find it and they haven’t taken contact details or anything! When speaking on the phone to them they get the item wrong so it’s as if they don’t even know what they are looking for They won’t even let me send them the screen shot to show them the items location!

Food ok shocking service Fermented vinegar see picture waited over 30 minutes for drink and we had to ask again for them Food was good just really bad service Could possibly understand if it was busy.

Great location, only 5 minutes walk from the train station as well only 10 mins away from other tourist sites we visited. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we would need. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had been notified by email a few times that the lift was out of order, wasn’t a big issue for us but can understand for those with mobility issues it may have been a struggle.

The hotel is very well located, a short walk from the train station and very close to the centre of York. As in many Premier Inn hotels, the welcome was friendly and courteous. The room was clean and very comfortable. One minor drawback was the air conditioning: it wasn't very strong, but since we were only there for two nights, it didn't bother us too much. Several days before our arrival, I received a message informing me that the elevator was out of order. I contacted the hotel to ask if compensation was planned for the reduced service, but I did not receive a response. Since there were still about two weeks left, I thought it would surely be fixed by the time we arrived. It wasn't. There was a message stuck to the elevator that we could ask for help with luggage (we were on the 3rd floor). Instead of having to ask, it would have been preferable to have a valet system in place to carry luggages up without us having to request it, since the elevator service we were supposed to have was unavailable. Finally, I am not criticizing the staff on duty. I think they were courteous and did their best under the circumstances.
