"Excellent location if staying in York."
We stayed at the York City Blossom Street South.
Great value for money.
The rooms were very quiet and comfortable. Excellent location 5 mins walk from train station and 10-15 min walk into York. We were glad of the air conditioning as it was very hot outside. Small negative was disorganised service at breakfast but we would definitely stay there again when in York.

"More Staff Needed"
We have stayed here a number of times . Without doubt there has been a reduction in staff . This has caused a major impact on speed of response to issues and the breakfast was a disaster . Never in a Premier inn have I waited ages for cereal bowls, plates and even cutlery . The staff keep smiling but there aren’t enough of them
For such a busy hotel.

"A North-South divide"
A slightly odd arrangement of two separate Premier Inns (Blossom Street North and South) located less than 100 yards apart. Both are very convenient for the railway station, Roman wall and city centre. In North the rooms look to be arranged around a courtyard, whilst South is a more conventional Premier Inn style concrete box.
For my two night stay in Blossom Street South I booked a Premier Plus room, as it was only marginally more expensive. This proved to be a good choice, especially having a fridge to keep drinks cool during a very hot spell. It also helped make my stay extremely quiet, as the Premier Plus rooms are on the top floor and I suspect none of the others were occupied! Breakfast was the typical Premier Inn buffet affair, with a decent selection of the standard cooked items and OK-ish coffee. My evening meal was a perfectly adequate burger and chips. As usual these days at Premier Inns, staff were few and far between. Not a problem for me, but could be if you needed assistance for any reason.
I’d be happy to stay at Blossom Street South if visiting York again. Or maybe I’d try Blossom Street North for a change!

"Never again"
Positives,
Room was comfortable and clean.
Relatively quiet.
Negatives,
Service around the hotel was the worst I have experienced in any premier inn we have stayed at.
Service was so slow due to either inexperienced staff or not enough staff working at the time.
Had to wait an age to get seated for breakfast both mornings.
When we tried to be seated for an evening meal we were told they could not accommodate us as they were busy, even though the restaurant looked quiet. When we told them we were staying at the hotel and wanted to feed our child, the members of staff asked there supervisor and he said, no they cannot fit us in as there would be a 45 minute wait, which we did not mind doing, but we’re not given that option.
1 member of staff was so rude, we were walking through a door with our cases to leave and they just barged past without even saying excuse me rather that waiting 10 seconds to let us past.
At that point we were enraged so much by this behaviour and the rest of the lousy service we had received we just wanted to leave asap.
Terrible experience and we will not be returning.
Best of luck if you want to try it.
