"The Best Hotel Customer Service We Have Ever Had. Thank you!"
I have the pleasure of writing this review, due to the outstanding customer service we received at the Premier Inn Blossom St South at York.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel on Sunday 03rd May 2026 to Monday 04th May 2026.
When we arrived we were greeted by a polite young man called "Matt", who was so helpful and explained about the non working lift issue, which we were already aware of. Matt then offered to take our cases to the room and carry them up 3 flights of stairs, but as we are both very mobile did not need his assistance.
I then explained to Matt that we were from Doncaster and had come to York for a family reunion, to meet relatives that we had not seen for some considerable time.
Matt explained that we could use the telephone in reception to call for a taxi, but unfortunately due to it being a bank holiday, there was a 90minute waiting time.
At this point a wonderful lady who worked for Premier Inn Blossom South called "Michelle" said that she would personally order us an "Uber Taxi" on her mobile phone and even offered to pay for our taxi, to take us to the venue. We could not thank Michelle enough and appreciatively reimbursed her for our fare.
The following day as my wife and I walked through York on the way to where our car had been parked overnight, we bumped into Michelle, who was on her way to work. She remembered our faces and asked how our family reunion had gone and did we enjoy our stay at the hotel.
My wife and I could not believe the thoughtfulness of Michelle and how she had gone beyond and above to make sure our short time in York was as memorable as it could have been.
We have travelled and stayed all over the world, but to have 2 people treat us with such kindness and generosity is absolutely unique.
Premier Inn and especially Blossom South of York should ensure their hard working staff are appreciated and acknowledge outstanding customer service.
I hope that both Matt and Michelle get to read this review and more importantly get some recognition for their superb customer service.

"Lovely staff, shame about the facilities"
Great location, and atmosphere was chill, never felt super busy or heard anyone else except for on the stairs and breakfast. Room was spacious, and lovely view on top floor. Loss of a point for no caffeine free coffee pods, only saches available and this had to be requested. This also wasn't advertised anywhere, nor were the breakfast times? We heard at the end of our stay that these are in the lift (spoiler, which was not working)
I'm mostly writing this to say the whole stay was saved by Matt and I believe their name was Chloe? Bank holiday weekend and the lift was broken (remember top floor) And the key cards weren't registering? This obviously sets them up for grumpy guests and no reprieve from running up and down the stairs. But not once did they complain! They were honest that the set up wasn't ideal but still had no issues with running up to let us in to our room and grab us some extra water when we asked.
This has nothing to do with the specific staff at this hotel, but I know for a fact that lifts breaking and keys not working is a common issue at all premier inns. If the system fails this often, change the damn system.
Anyway, for sure will be coming back, hopefully to a working lift and lovely staff again

"Nice stay apart from the lift"
Just stayed here for 3 nights. Nice hotel, good location for venturing into York city centre and a 10 minute walk from the train station. We had a premier plus room which was clean and in a quiet spot in the hotel which suited us. However..........the premier plus rooms are on the top floor and the lift is STILL out of order. So we had to walk up and down 7 flights of stairs every time we went out! This became very hard and tedious after 3 days. It's a good job we consider ourselves to be fairly fit but for other, more elderly persons it would be impossible for them. Looking at previous reviews, the lift has been like this for over a month. I did get an e-mail telling me that the lift was still out of order so I could have cancelled but still decided to stay there. Premier Inn, sort this out or you will be driving customers away! Very poor.

"Not a great Premier Inn"
Much longer to walk to the Minster than they lead you to believe. There is never anyone at the front desk. You have to ring and ring a buzzer. It doesn't appear as if they have enoigh staff.
The elevator has not been working for 8 weeks now... waiting on parts! Part of the room fee should have been refunded.
My room is being used for storage, evidently. There are bags of linen sticking out from under my bed! And the hand soap and body wash were not filled.
