"Good base location but attention to detail needed."
I will say - Excellent location. Very close to York train station which is ideal for those travelling via public transport. We drove, but the hotel carpark had ample spaces for parking which was very helpful. ANPR detects you going in, reception give you a QR code on bit of paper when leaving to scan and you just type in your reg and pay at the machine
Lots to do in city centre, and you could spend days discovering more and more.
Check in was quick and straight forward, parking explained and receptionist friendly. No complaints there, receptionist super friendly and easy directions on where to go.
The room itself was tired and needed some basic attention to detail. Curtains were pretty dire, on the window facing side it was far more obvious, black patches that were almost like mould, bath taps were covered in a thick layer of limescale, dusty bedside lights etc. Double bed had a double duvet on it, standard, but the duvet COVER was massive and hanging off down the side of the bed. Yes, I did get my leg tangled in this and stumbled out of bed rather than arising peacefully...
Shower gel and handwash provided, nice clean fluffy towels, instructions on what to do if you need a refresh. Easy going, no complaints there. Powerful shower, nice and hot too, excellent.
Room itself however, was unbearably hot, we visited reception in the morning after first night to ask if someone could please check the aircon unit as it didnt work and with the heat in the room we had barely slept. We did try to just sleep with the windows open, they don't open much which is understandable. Of course this meant being woken early next morning by bins being emptied etc, and as we were facing the carpark it meant people in and out of cars late at night or early morning.
Nobody actually noted down our issue regarding air con when we visited reception, staff member just replied with "I'll get someone to check it"
We're not in summer months, it wasn't a particularly hot few days, but the room was very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable.
We went out for the day, came back and the room was just as hot. Discovered ourselves that the small control panel just inside room door actually had the on/off button missing so thats obviously why it wasn't working. Surely this would have been noted somewhere that a button/switch cover was missing and we would have to find a small object to just press the tiny pad?
I tested the theory by pressing the edge of my comb lightly against an exposed "button" and low n behold it came on, finally, late at night on the second night. HOWEVER, the fans inside the air con unit were absolutely full of dust and it unfortunately did nothing to cool down the room sadly. The lowest temperature it would set to was 19 degrees but it felt far hotter than that.
Breakfast. worth noting you have to come out the hotel and into the Premier Inn Blosson St SOUTH next door for breakfast. It's not far, its not an issue and the process is simple.
The food itself was very tasty, menu states what the options are for the "unlimited cooked breakfast".
I know some hotels offer table service and some buffet, this location is buffet style.
What you get on the day however does not seem to be quite the full menu out and on offer. Day 1 had hash browns, day 2 mushrooms in place of hash browns. If you want poached or boiled eggs, you need to find someone to ask.
Zero tomatoes any day we were there, and id imagine veggie sausage you would probably need to ask for? Both on the menu but nowhere to be seen. If you advertise that items are part of a breakfast, they really should be there or it explained that you can order certain items.
The set up was give your room number, told "go find a table" and at that the staff member walks off, both mornings we were there, different staff same style. Trays emptied out at a fast pace so it was a bit of a guess as to whether you'd get a mix of what you wanted on your plate or if you'd have to do a few trips to check if something had been replenished or was still empty.
Continental available had good mixture of yogurt, fruits, cereals, drinks, pastries etc. Plenty bread for toasting and various spreads.
Good amount of seating available and nice set up with tables and chairs. Tables cleared quickly upon people leaving. Comfortable and relaxed dining room, beautiful decor. Downside was the cutlery was unclean, not apetising at all.
All in, I've stayed in my fair share of Premier Inns over the years as I do like the set up, booking is always easy, and they make a good base for work/travelling.
But, the run down room, the overheating and lack of service to address this or even be sympathetic when brought to receptionists attention, would ultimately put me off returning to this specific location. Disappointing as it was a personal trip away, we absolutely loved the area, the location itself for sight seeing etc was ideal.
However, If we tell you we've barely slept and why, that needs to be properly acknowledged, especially when you promise a good night sleep.

"OK for a short trip on a budget"
The location of the hotel is good. It is near the railway station and within walking distance of the the sites I wanted to see during my stay in york. I expected a basic hotel as it is Premier Inn, and that is what you get. It felt safe, and quiet. The room was dated and worn. The space felt like it could do with a bit of a revamp, and at minimum needed a good airing as it felt stuffy and musty on the corridors. Other then that it appeared clean, the bed was comfortable and shower was good. The bathroom provided shower gel and soap so bring other toiletries as needed. If you needed a room clean you need to request it before 12 each day, it's not done automatically. The sink in our bathroom drained slowly, and when reported to the hotel, they said maintenance would not be in till the next day but they never came to look at the sink. The set up is strange as the hotel is across multiple buildings. I didn't have breakfast there and mostly used it as a base to sleep.

"Deary me"
Don't pay for breakfast as you won't get any. No coffee beans left, hot food in dribs and drabs.
Good location.
Tired rooms.
First rejected room smelt of poo and was advised hotel was full, so give it to someone else.we were there two days and the Brekky in the other part of hotel 2nd day was no better.needs organising and a stock of food, fruit and coffee beans out ready for people to eat, an apology saying there isn't a coffee bean left on the place doesn't cut the mustard for just under £300 for 2 nights.
Considering selling my shares if this is how it's going to be going forward.
Top tip avoid 3205 as the pong was vile.
3106s bed was comfy,Room clean but tired.
Let's finish on a good note they let you store luggage when checking out. Thanks

"Lack of Attention from Staff"
I booked a two-night, three-day stay at Premier Inn York, which is conveniently located near the train station and within walking distance of York’s main attractions.
Unfortunately, the service did not meet my expectations. Upon arrival, I found that the sink plunger was stuck. I reported the issue to reception and also mentioned it to the cleaning staff, but it was not addressed. The sink remained blocked until that evening, when I resolved the problem myself using the back of a teaspoon.
Breakfast was also disappointing, as the advertised fruit and cereals were unavailable. Consequently, I chose not to have breakfast on the second day. Overall, the location was excellent, but the service and breakfast could be improved.
