    "Terrible stay and awful throughout"
We arrived after booking 2 rooms for ourselves and elderly parents From arrival at reception I was surprised at the lack of any welcome but had no idea what was o come.It was so bad its easier to list Rooms are tired and bed not clean. Ours had a jammed shower door and it was obvious that previous guests had showered with door open and allowed room to flood. We had to do the same. My wife's parents shower was broken and so there was no washing facility. They did not discover this until the morning We had booked a meal for 6.30pm but upon arrival ( toilet out of service and sign said used assisted toilet room which we opened and it was filthy - lots of guest looked in to laugh how bad it was !) and told the chef had not arrived. We waited 1 hour but which time a lot of guests were waiting for the chef. Told he had arrived - I. asked how long it would take for our order and told not before 8.30 but honestly they advise they would eat in the village rather than here if I were you So were left trailed around with my 93 year old father in law looking for somewhere to eat in Gargrave - the issue being other guests were doing the same. breakfast was bedlam with insufficient staff - well actually a few of them were sitting outside complaining how bad things were Upon checking out - I asked to discuss my concerns , they logged the broken shower and handed a card and told to ring head office which I did I asked head office to send someone out unannounced to see a hotel in crisis however there was not a lot of enthusiasm for that. They advised a £43 credit (? how that helpsI do not know) - and no further response. Stepped over litter in car park inc. dead pheasant and so very glad to get away
"Not allowed to eat in an empty restaurant"
We had cycled 50 miles along the canal (in the pouring rain) and booked the hotel for an overnight stay before heading onto Leeds. Had specifically chosen the hotel due to proximity to the canal AND the fact it has a restaurant. However we were informed we couldn’t eat in the restaurant as we hadn’t pre booked. This was not advised on the confirmation email or at check-in. The man in the restaurant was unhelpful and rude, adamantly refusing to serve us. There was loads of space and free tables. Very disappointed with this hotel especially as the rooms were also very expensive
    "Appalling Iremier inn"
Appalling Premier inn. Black mould on inside of windows ( see photos). 3 broken light bulbs. 30 minutes late opening for breakfast and 2 courses in the evening took an hour and a half and was distinctly ordinary. No refund or even change of room offered. Would strongly recommend to avoid. Lodged a complaint nearly two weeks ago but nothing .... complete silence. Will never stay there again.
    "Bad stay"
Room has a feisty smell it was cold and the bedding damp. The table lamp was dangerous as the on off button was missing with a hole onto it's base. We complained and were offered another room. The heating totally failed and just blew very cold yet reception was so warm. This had a waste bin which had food left in it. There was only one bath towel there were two pillows completely spare under the bed which didn't belong to anything. The attached restaurant was totally chaotic,we waited a long time before we were asked for drinks. The restaurant was booked for19.30 but didn't get a drink till 20.00. This was an appalling stay and not likely to use again. It's dated and doesn't have enough staff. The staff in reception I feel really sorry for as they were fielding a lot of enquiries and upsets from other guests.
"Lovely location with equally lovely staff!"
Every member of staff I met were amazing always very cheerful and knowledgeable thanks to Charlotte, couldn't fault a thing! It is in such a lovely area. Will definately return!
