Skipton North (Gargrave) hotel

A very run down hotel from the outside, loose paving slabs and a large part of the car park fenced off. Room was good and bed comfortable. Food offering was poor. Very very slow service, items not available from the menu (some items still unavailable the following evening) not great quality when it finally arrived. Lots of complaints from other residents. Seemed to be very low on staff, we had booked weeks in advance with a group of around 35 so the team should have been geared up for us but weren't. Large parts of the hotel were devoid of furniture as though the place was going out of business. The staff did their best though. It felt overpriced for the quality (or lack of) the hotel.

Having stayed at this Premier Inn several times before I was dissapointed when we arrived to be in a room with scafolding at the window. The builders did not move on to other parts of the hotel until the following afternoon. Did not make for a relaxing stay. The attached restaurant only opened at 6.30pm and building works were going on. We were not warned that this was happening and would have made a change to our plans. £203 for two nights, you do not expect to open the curtains to find a couple of workmen chatting and have a cigarette on the other side of the window. Did not get to relax in the room as a result. I have always been loyal to Premier Inn but The Old Swan in Gargrave will be the place for us to stay from now on. Great food there and friendly staff. Unlike the Premier Inn.

Great quiet location despite being on a busy main road. Rooms have been refurbished and were well planned and had everything you needed. Bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast was basic but poor quality items. Cooked breakfast was better. Evening meals selection was good but very poor. Many items over cooked and apoears to be a major staffing issue which looking back on older reviews has never been resolved by the management team in charge. The waitresses and waiters when ypu could find one were very good but clearly stressed and overworked because of appalling management.

The place was a mess food nit good beer warm was told they had a problem was also told by staff the pub was closing so no repairs were being done but this is happening at all premier inn so wouldn't use them again
