Skipton North (Gargrave) hotel

Great quiet location despite being on a busy main road. Rooms have been refurbished and were well planned and had everything you needed. Bed was comfortable. Continental breakfast was basic but poor quality items. Cooked breakfast was better. Evening meals selection was good but very poor. Many items over cooked and apoears to be a major staffing issue which looking back on older reviews has never been resolved by the management team in charge. The waitresses and waiters when ypu could find one were very good but clearly stressed and overworked because of appalling management.

The place was a mess food nit good beer warm was told they had a problem was also told by staff the pub was closing so no repairs were being done but this is happening at all premier inn so wouldn't use them again

The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished. It was nicely decorated, very clean and the bathroom was lovely - nice bath and shower and no mould which you usually see in Premier Inn bathrooms. The car park had a large section closed off but we managed to park. There was quite a queue to check in which took some time. The air conditioning was great and something we have struggled with in other locations. It was very quiet and a nice view through the window. We had received an email with a free breakfast offer so decided to visit Skipton. Unfortunately the breakfast wasn’t too good. The hot food seemed to have been sitting there for a while. The bacon was very hard and inedible, the eggs were rubbery. Beans were ok as was the orange juice. The coffee was all milk, couldn’t taste the coffee. Not much choice of other items although a selection of cereals was ok. The cutlery wasn’t clean. I was glad we hadn’t paid for the breakfast.

Hotel is in lovely location next to a canal and set back from the road so nice and quiet. My room was very spacious and clean, apart from a small food stain on bed sheets which I noticed in the morning. The air-conditioning was quite slow to work so needed to shut the window and turn it up full as soon as I got there but ultimately it kept me lovely and cool all through the night and I slept really well in the very comfy bed. The welcome was friendly but the poor lady was running between the front desk and the bar area in the next building, so could have done with some help. Still, lovely and friendly and a great welcome. I booked a cooked breakfast in the morning and it was very good. Overall a great stay and I would definitely book again.
