"Generally not a good example of a Premier Inn but centrally located."
Have stayed in many Premier Inns over the years and this was probably the worse. Dark stuffy room with marked walls and sealed windows. Basically clean and quiet, however, the hotel is tired and in need of a makeover. It is a very rambling building so long walks to the restaurant. The restaurant has a basic 'pub grub' menu and although we didn't eat there we overheard complaints from over guests relating to the quality of the food. The guy who served our beer had a streaming cold so we made sure our glasses were wiped clean before touching.
"Great location"
Excellent location, usual premier inn high standards, park in short term carpark almost next to the hotel. Carpark free from 6PM to 8AM
"Hotel great, attached Brewers Fayre let's it down"
**please read full review - this is not a fair score for hotel - I'd give that 4 (only loosing one due to car parking) however attached Brewers Fayre is give 0 to for evening meal (breakfast was better) ** This is a large hotel with a complex weaving of corridors from one side down to the restaurant at the other (it took us a good 5mins to walk from our room to restaurant!) the advantage of this is rooms were spread out so it's actually probably one of the quietest premier inn's I've stayed in. Staff on check in were pleasant. Room was really clean and in good condition. Bed linen in particular smelt really clean which was lovely. Shower is decent, although personally I hate a shower curtain, but that is a minor detail. No parking at the hotel, however we got parked at palm court car park which is less than 5mins walk and cost £12 for 24 hours. (This is clearly a very busy car park due to hotel it is attached to and premier inn plus day trippers, there were spaces at 11am but they were becoming limited, and by 5pm there was a good choice of spaces - I'm not sure where plan b to park would have been) Attached brewers fayre really let everything that the hotel does down. Evening meal - took an hour to arrive despite it not being particularly busy - no apology for this at all. Children's starters arrived at same time as main course. Children had the same starters - one has a severe allergy - it's standard practice elsewhere for allergy meals to be labelled or bought separately, this did not happen. Most worrying of all however was the overall lack of knowledge on allergies. Staff eventually pulled out a raggy allergy file when asked for it - this information did not match the information on Brewers Fayre website. Staff had no knowledge of when the file was updated or if it had been - stated was up to parents to decide if they wanted to believe the file of online allergy information as the risk was theirs. We had to stack dirty plates from starts and mains to make space for deserts - dirty plates were only cleared after it was requested. Also would not accept voucher codes (notice on till to say not scanning) where this issue has occured elsewhere, including Brewers Fayre attached to different premier inn's the blue light codes have been put through manually. Clearly they just didn't want to do this, and the quality of food does not match the price on the menu at all. Due to self serve breakfast, issues were less significant then and staff on breakfast greet and seating had more understanding and knowledge of allergies thankfully. However tables were slow to be cleared and cleaned. Overall I'd say hotel is great - I'd give this 4* (only loosing one due to car park as I've no idea what we'd have done if that one was full) The attached Brewers Fayre however needs to sort themselves out especially on allergy law and basic cleanliness and clearing of tables (staff stood around having chat on evening which made everything more infuriating, severe lack of basic customer service - two staff members even argued in front of us over which one of them was using a specific table as we arrived with another party) breakfast was decent, but tables need to be cleaned. Avoid eating there at night.
"Great stay. Very friendly and helpful staff."
Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy check in. Comfortable rooms. Good size. A really good sleep on their comfortable bed. Great location. Can’t fault it.
"Just your average premier inn"
Location brill for central scarbrough. McDonald’s bang outside. Wouldn’t rate breakfast but can’t really blame premier inn for breakfast. Not the most peaceful of hotels we’ve stayed in but just ya average premier inn.
