    "Very Poor"
This place has gone off a lot since 2 years ago. Very noticeable lack of staff with a very scruffy Manager who only loved the sound of his own voice. Nothing around to let you know you had to book for an evening meal and breakfast was very busy and rushed due to poor management. Overall poor
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Heavenly Escape After a Nightmare Start"
Our honeymoon coastal road trip took an unexpected turn when our pre-booked hotel in Scarborough turned out to be something between Fawlty Towers and Colditz. My husband a Navy veteran who has also endured Army accommodation –actually said the Army did it better, and that’s saying something! (See my last review for the full drama.) In tears, with my new husband in severe pain from his disability, we decided to head to somewhere we knew we could rely on: Premier Inn North Bay. And thank goodness we did. From the moment we met Meg on reception, we felt safe and cared for. She immediately reassured us, found us an accessible room, and said, “Don’t worry, Premier Inn has you now.” She then gave us the most encyclopedic guide to Scarborough—where to eat, park, and explore before running us through the in-house menu. We booked a table straight away. Our accessible room was spotless, fresh, and that heavenly Premier Inn bed felt like collapsing onto a cloud after the day we’d had. The adapted shower was powerful enough to feel like a spa. For the first time that day, we could breathe again. At dinner, we met Ryan, another North Bay gem. He handled my husband’s severe mushroom allergy with total professionalism and care. Normally, allergies cut out half the menu, but here only two dishes were off-limits everything else was freshly cooked with no risk of contamination. Hearing it was our honeymoon and what we’d been through, Ryan was horrified on our behalf and immediately brought us both a complimentary glass of wine. The food? Honestly, it blew us away. • I had the Korean Crunch Chicken Burger crispy, juicy, perfectly spiced, and flavour-packed. • My Wigan-born husband (raised on pies and a tough critic!) ordered the Creamy Chicken & Pulled Ham Pie with cheesy crumb topping. The first mouthful had him actually moaning out loud—and believe me, even I can’t make him moan like that, ha! Tears in his eyes, he said it was like pies his grandmother used to make, only better. That cheesy crumb took it to another level. Truly a pie fit for the gods. • For dessert, I had the Banoffee Cheesecake (cheesecake queen + banoffee pie lover = heaven). It was baked to perfection, creamy, with fresh banana, caramel sauce, and chocolate flake—absolute bliss. My husband’s Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard was straight out of his childhood. Pure nostalgia in every bite. If you’d told us this food came from a starred restaurant, we’d have believed you. Finding a chef of this calibre in a Premier Inn was the best surprise of all. Meg even checked in on us before bed making us feel genuinely cared for. We slept like angels on that giant bed, the stress and pain melting away. Breakfast the next morning was just as good. The team already knew about my husband’s allergy and had everything cooked safely and freshly. A full English, plus crumpets and Scotch pancakes, made it the perfect send-off. What started as the worst day of our honeymoon turned into one of the best thanks to the incredible team at Premier Inn North Bay. Meg and Ryan in particular deserve medals. Warm, kind, funny, and professional exactly the kind of people who turn a stressful disaster into a happy memory. Premier Inn, you didn’t just give us a bed for the night you gave us peace, comfort, and joy when we needed it most. We’ll never forget it.
    "GEORGE IS A SUPERSTAR!"
George the Manager is very accommodating, he is beyond nice! I am very pleased and uplifted by the way he entertains us. He is very generous and his work is above excellence! Thank you George for being so nice to us healthcare workers!
    "Poor customer service"
On getting to the hotel we were very early as we were going to the cricket match on the same day. The parking was very good and cost £7.90. We called in and used the buffet breakfast facility and I have to say it was very good. We arrived later that day around 7pm to check in, the auto check in service didn’t work so a young lady checked us in. All good so far, until we opened the door to our room to discover it occupied. We immediately went to reception who apologised and issued us with a new room. The room we were given had only 1 double bed and a spare which has no linen for it. We got washed and changed and on leaving informed the staff that we needed spare bed linen and towels. They again agreed to our request. When we arrived back there was no linen or towels to be seen, by this stage we were too tired to try and find any staff to do anything about it and ended up making the best of what we had. I disappointing experience.
"Clean hotel, shame about other guests and dismissive staff"
Not the best experience. • Both self checking screens broken upon arrival and no one on reception, presses the buzzer 4 times before a girl appeared from the bar. • Issues with noise from room above is from 8.30pm - 2am. Started trying to contact reception from just after 10pm to complain- reception not manned, no answer to phone calls all evening, even resorted to sending an email to the hotel incase that would be picked up. The delightful heard of elephants in the room above us woke around 8.30am and the co start banging of kids running continued. I understand kids will be kids but I always ensure my kids who both have complex additional needs and love to run around and make noise are occupied so they are not disturbing other guests. Told a staff memeber on check out and she was rather dismissive. Hotel room was comfortable and clean so can’t fault that but not great that there’s no one at the end of the phone if you have an issue after a long day when you have another busy long day the following day the least you expect is a half decent nights sleep.
