Middlesbrough Central (James Cook Hospital) hotel

We stayed for 2 nights Saturday and Sunday on the Saturday the chef was so rude and condescending I was appalled by her behaviour I was weary about going for breakfast on the second day but to my surprise it was a different girl who was just wonderful and excepting she was so welcoming and just made the experience overall great

The ground floor accessible room fitted our needs perfectly. The low, comfortable bed, spacious wet room and space for a wheelchair all contributed to a great stay. Over five days we met several staff who were all extremely polite and helpful, especially in turning off the shower! The cooked breakfasts were served promptly and were excellent.

We have been staying at the hotel for some time after a flood in our home left us unable to live there. What could have been an extremely stressful and upsetting experience was made much easier thanks to the incredible staff here. Tracy, Adelle, Kerry, Debbie, Leanne, Leigh, Katie, Joanne, Steph, Denise, KC, Karen, Ashleigh, Janet, Talia and Jaselle have all been absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived they showed genuine care and kindness towards our situation and made us feel very welcome during what has been a difficult time for our family. The reception team have been fantastic throughout our stay. They looked after our room booking and any changes that needed to be made with patience and understanding, and were always happy to help whenever we had questions or needed assistance. They regularly checked in with us and made sure everything was going smoothly, which meant a great deal while we were dealing with the disruption of being away from home. Tracy and Adelle were especially kind to us during a few difficult moments and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, although the whole team have been wonderful. The breakfast team also deserve a special mention. Every morning they looked after us so well and were particularly attentive to allergy requirements, always taking care to ensure everything was safe and suitable. That level of attention and kindness made a real difference to our daily routine while staying here. The housekeeping team have also played an important part in making our stay comfortable. Keeping everything clean, fresh and welcoming each day really helped create a sense of normality for us during a very unsettled time. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble. The team always greeted us warmly and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Their kindness, professionalism and compassion have meant a lot to us during a very challenging period. It’s the people that make a place special, and this team truly does. We are incredibly grateful for the care they have shown. **We hope the management team recognise what a fantastic group of staff they have here.** Thank you all so much.

I stay here because parking is easy, the staff are friendly, the rooms well appointed and clean and the breakfast is good and plentiful.
