"No care and Dirty"
we arrived and had a 10 minute wait at an empty reception to check in. the room was dirty for example a desk fan provided left a brown ring of dust on the shelf where this obviously had not been cleaned for months. blew dust all around the room as it was caked in filth. The desk draw was full of crumbs and the chair was tired and stained. There were pillows in a bag just stuffed under the bed and the plug in the sink got stuck so we couldn’t drain it. bar had bare minimum on offer due to contractors working in the restaurant. when coming down in the lift we saw a sign that said there would be no water from 10am to 3pm.
"Mixed experience of our stay."
This hotel looked lovely on arrival and reception quick and helpful. Shame our Premier plus room was furthest away from reception! We noted that there was no ramp at the front disables access being at the rear. This should be made clear and suitable parking here too. Room was comfortable and quiet but the shower room fan was permanently on and noisy - had to be turned off at night in spite of note saying to leave on. Restaurant are was really tired looking with some very tatty tables and fittings. Breakfast was fine (we had the so-called continental which was adequate) and staff were helpful. There was building work going on whilst we were there (no disturbance) so I guess this will be tidied up in the long run. In all slightly disappointed as we have had better at cheaper rates.
"Disappointing, even for a Premier Inn"
Booked a Premier Plus room, and the experience was anything but plus. The room had the advertised coffee machine...but no pods. Oh, and no toilet roll in the bathroom. Great start. The chap on the front desk seemed pretty disinterested in his job - his phone was a lot more interesting - but he did wander off and come back with a couple of loo rolls and coffee pods. To be fair, once he was engaged, he was good. Other than that, room was fine. It's a Premier Inn, it is what it is, but to pay for the plus room and have these basic issues is pretty unacceptable. It would be unacceptable in a regular room. Minor thing, but corridors were the temperature of the sun, which when arriving on a 27c day is not what you want. Breakfast was also poor. Again, usually it's a safe bet and you know what you're going to get, but half of the continental breakfast options appeared to be absent and the lad running the breakfast seemed to have been left high and dry in dealing with customer complaints. So yeah. Usually you book a Premier Inn because it's a safe bet and you know what you're getting, but this was legitimately rubbish.
"I wouldn’t recommend this hotel"
Arrived at the hotel 4:30pm on a Saturday. Bar doesn’t open until 5pm. Food not served until 6pm! So had to find somewhere nearby to get a snack. Not welcoming after a long drive Shower gel not replenished in the bathroom (the bottle is attached to the wall) Sink plug stuck in the closed position. The receptionist had to attend ours and other guest rooms with a screwdriver to open the plugs. She said the warm weather was causing the problem. Once sorted, it happened again, so we could only use the sink once, and left it blocked with dirty water when we checked out. As a previous reviewer stated, the water temperature in the shower repeatedly changed from hot to cold. Keeps you on your toes to prevent being scalded! No aircon in the room. Just a small desk fan. You have to upgrade to a premier room for aircon. So we had an uncomfortable, humid nights stay. At breakfast in the restaurant there was food debris left on the carpet under our table. Just one member of staff doing everything. The hotel has a neglected, empty atmosphere. The location suited us by I would look elsewhere nearby next time.
"Poor experience "
Very poor experience. We have stayed at many Premier Inns and this was by far the worst we've stayed in. Very outdated and grubby. Our room (120) had a toilet with a leak and there was a puddle of water around it on the floor. When we complained the person on duty said they had no spare rooms, no manager available and no maintenance person. So we had to place towels around the loo to stop the flow. The next morning I spoke to the duty manager who was able to give us a new room as someone had checked out. It was obvious that staff knew the leak was an ongoing problem as no one asked to come and see it. The manager seemed to be of the opinion that a higher level of management keep allowing the room to be booked despite the leak. The restaurant was not very clean, had sticky floors and tables. Seemed to be understaffed. Only disgustingly weak filter coffee was available for breakfast and food had to be ordered rather than the usual buffet. Orders were often jumbled. There was no wholemeal bread available on Sunday morning at 8.45am. Rooms have no AC but there were fans. This hotel seriously needs to be closed and refurbished.
