Catterick Garrison hotel

The hotel accommodation was as expected. However, the restaurant facilities were another story. The adjoining pub/restaurant is now gone having been replaced with a small eating facility created from what were previously hotel rooms. The menu was severely lacking in options and the food was from freezer to oven to table. A pint of Coke is not available only 330cl option. The desserts were limited but as we did not get to try cannot comment further on them. This leads me to the service within the eatery. I found this to be well below expectations as the staff were not really interested in the task. We weren’t asked if further drinks were wanted, didn’t take dinner plates away or ask if we wished to have desserts. In the end we gave up and went to our rooms. We were told on arrival that food service stopped at 9.30 PM but at 9.15 PM the kitchen looked empty and the remaining service staff member appeared to be avoiding contact. If this is the way forward for whitbread I doubt they will survive. I will avoid booking with them in future.

We've stayed at Catterick Garrison 3 times now and the staff have always been friendly, with a warm welcome. The rooms have been spotless and we've slept very well. We look forward to breakfast which offers a great variety and is regularly replenished. Highly recommend choosing this Premier Inn if you're in the area.

Very happy to give a positive review. Great quality and room was fresh smelling. 2nd floor meant window wasn’t overlooked. Lifts to floors, but stairs adjacent to build up the cardio! Friendly breakfast staff, very chatty! Ample free parking, which isn’t camera controlled either.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff and a very comfortable bed. We had a very good nights sleep there. The Social Restaurant served delicious food which was piping hot.

I paid extra for a Plus Room, and it was a complete waste of money. On Friday night, I went to the bar at 10:40 only to be told it was closed, despite the lights still being on, the door open, and three staff members chatting at reception. The coffee machine in the room didn’t work properly—the water was only lukewarm and there were no instructions provided. Even after adding boiling water, it made no difference. A manager came to assist but was also unable to get it working. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking a very busy car park, which meant we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. This left us with no natural light while getting ready. While the Plus Rooms include sockets by the bed, the shelf space is extremely limited. In fact, the standard rooms appear to offer better storage, with a cube unit providing two shelves. There was also only a tiny shelf under the TV—no desk at all, which was very inconvenient. Overall, this upgrade did not justify the cost, and I would not choose a Plus Room again.
