"Very good with a few exceptions"
The staff were friendly and accommodating. We asked one of the staff for a restaurant recommendation which was very appreciated (also was delicious!) The bed was comfy but the lighting in both the room and bathroom was lacking. The toilet required heavy pressing to flush.
"Rundown"
Very run down and not being maintained. Have stayed here many times over the years but this is the last. Also access along Prince of Wales Rd is scruffy and questionably safe.
"Overnight in Norwich"
The hotel looks dated outside & is due for redevelopment. However the location near the station was what we wanted. Our room was smart & clean. Breakfast was busy but all food was being regularly refreshed & the tables kept cleared.
"Lovely central hotel"
Lovely location as it's opposite the train station. We had room 33 but there is no power supply sockets by the bed at all the only ones are on the desk and near the kettle. The bed was comfy and if you have lactose intolerance make sure you get some milk as they don't put it in the rooms and the restaurant refused to provide some without buying a drink. Reception staff was lovely .
"Good centrally located hotel- restaurant could be better"
Stayed here recently due to a girls night out in the city- very well priced making it cheaper to stay for the night than get a cab there and back- Rooms are pretty basic but all you need for a stopover. Location is very good to the city- 5 minute walk and we were at the bars on king street and 10 minutes to Tombland Breakfast was good, only disappointment was that after doing a bit of shopping the day after and making use of the parking I’d paid for I went back to the restaurant for late lunch. Was really taken back how small the burger and chips were, even the coleslaw was about a teaspoonful. For the sake of a few extra chips and more coleslaw it could have been good. No atmosphere in the restaurant either or music playing, views of river are nice but weather meant couldn’t eat and drink outside.
