"Great from the get go"
Very peaceful stay with some really attentive staff. Big shout out to Honey and Benji for their fun upbeat attitudes, it made my late arrival feel very relaxing before I even got to the room. Room itself was comfortable and spacious with some nice amenties, though there should be soy milk pots or something like that!

"Nice hotel. Local area a bit rough"
Nice hotel.
Right on the the river.
Staff were good
Check in efficient.
Really close to the railways station. As a hotel I can’t fault it. It follows the tried and tested premier inn formula.
The terrace on the river is very nice.
Unfortunately it feels a bit like it’s on the rough side of town though.
The street outside the hotel into the city is full of kebab shops, pizza take ways, a few nightclubs and three ‘gentlemen’s clubs. And Lots of groups of young men hanging around.
I’m a middle aged man and I didn’t feel particularly threatened but I didn’t feel particularly comfortable either.
I’m sure if you stayed in the hotel it’s fine.
But im not sure id want to be here on a weekend.
Norwich is a lovely city - but this location/road doesn’t show it at its best 😬

"In love with Norwich!"
Had a wonderful time in Norwich and loved the hotel. Shezz at the front desk was amazing, so friendly and inviting and funny. The hotel location could not have been better , so close to the train station. Great breakfast! The shopping in Norwich is outstanding, we will be back !

"Norwich Nelson"
Premier Plus room was very nice. Housekeeping let it down by not supplying the daily two bottles of water and the mini chocolates. Also the soap container at the sink was empty so no one had bothered to check it.
Restaurant (table table) was exceedingly poor. Quality of the food for evening meal dreadful. Cook obviously doesn't check the plate before sending it out.
Outside very grubby to sit for coffee or alcohol

"Upgrade and early check in don't bother"
So where do I even start…
Me and my partner booked this hotel for one night after going to a local gig. We’d actually stayed at the Premier Inn the night before because this hotel had no availability, and looking back I wish we’d just stayed there again.
The day before check-in I decided to upgrade us to a “Premier Plus” room for an extra £45 as a bit of a treat for us both. One of the main reasons was the air conditioning and the whole “guaranteed good night’s sleep” thing they advertise.
We arrived on a really hot day and also paid another £15 for early check-in. At first everything seemed fine. We turned the air con on before heading out and thought the room would be nice and cool when we got back.
When we came back later the room was absolutely roasting. Turns out the air con had switched itself onto HEAT and was sat at 23 degrees.
I went down to reception and they apologised and said they’d reset it. They also said they didn’t know why it had changed itself over to heating mode. Fair enough, these things happen, so we went out for the evening.
But when we got back after our night out, it had happened AGAIN. The room was back on heat. So once again I had to go down to reception in the middle of the night to explain that this was now the second time.
They reset it again, but then at around 4am we woke up boiling hot because somehow it had switched itself back yet again. At that point I couldn’t sleep properly at all because the room was just too warm and stuffy.
What annoyed me most is we specifically paid extra for the upgraded room to be more comfortable and actually enjoy our stay together, but instead we spent half the night dealing with the heating.
I mentioned all this at checkout and later contacted customer services asking about their sleep guarantee. After loads of emails back and forth they offered me £35 goodwill compensation.
Considering the room was over £120, plus the £45 upgrade and £15 early check-in, I honestly thought £35 was pretty poor.
Safe to say we won’t be returning.
