"Good Premier Inn but needs some work"
We recently stayed at the Premier Inn Norwich and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was clean and tidy, with extra pillows provided, and the desk space was really useful for our son. The bathroom was acceptably clean and the toiletries were a nice touch. We were visiting during a spell of very high temperatures, so the room did get extremely warm. Although air conditioning would have been ideal, the fan provided worked surprisingly well and kept us cool enough to sleep.
Location-wise, the hotel was perfect for us, with easy access to both Cromer and Great Yarmouth. As with every Premier Inn we’ve stayed in, this one offered good value and a consistent standard of comfort. However, we did find it frustrating that we had to pay £15 for early check-in, especially as our room was already ready when we arrived.
Unfortunately, the restaurant attached to the hotel wasn’t up to the usual Premier Inn standard. The beans at breakfast took 15 minutes to arrive, which meant the rest of my meal went cold. The bacon was undercooked, while the hash browns were crispy but dry and hard from sitting too long under the heat lamp. The water machine was also concerning — it was covered in mildew, and the water came out cloudy and lukewarm, which was a real issue as my father needed water to take medication. Even the fruit juice was lukewarm, which just didn’t feel fresh. Staff were polite and apologetic, but the quality of breakfast really let down the end of our stay.
There’s also a Hungry Horse pub within walking distance — but I would strongly recommend avoiding it. The food came out suspiciously fast and tasted cheap and poorly prepared. The lasagne was described by my husband and father as “like it came out of a tin” — soggy, swimming in béchamel sauce, and with barely any meat. The chicken skewers and sizzling vegetables were clearly made from frozen ingredients, the wings tasted reheated, and even the chips were unpleasant. My nephew, who usually eats everything, couldn’t finish his burger, and the onion rings were pale and flavourless. My son’s pasta was overcooked with a sauce that looked like watered-down ketchup thrown over the top. Overall, it wasn’t a nice experience, and you’d be better off ordering from Uber Eats/Just Eat or trying the hotel restaurant (perhaps for lunch or dinner — we only tried breakfast).
Overall, the hotel itself was lovely and our son really enjoyed his “holiday” there, but unfortunately, the food options in and around the hotel really let the experience down.

"Friendly Team and Ideal Location, but Not the Usual Premier Inn Standard"
We recently stayed at the Premier Inn Norwich East (Broadlands / A47) and, unfortunately, it was the most disappointing experience we have had with the Premier Inn brand.
On the positive side, the staff were very helpful, parking was easy, and the location was ideal, not too far from the city centre and convenient for day trips to Cromer and Great Yarmouth. Rooms were cleaned on request which was fine with us but it meant we had to collect clean cups and spoons and refill coffee and milk ourselves.
However, the room itself fell far short of expectations. On arrival, we noticed webs inside the window, dusty lampshades by the bed, and a chair that had not been cleaned properly, with crumbs on the seat and what looked like bird droppings on the back. The toilet seat was stained, though the remainder of the bathroom was clean.
During our stay, the weather was very hot (high 20s to mid-30s), but the fan in the room was completely ineffective. Thankfully, we had brought our own smaller fan, which was far more efficient.
There were also maintenance issues: one socket by the table did not work, and the USB charging points by the bed were outdated (USB-A only), which made it difficult to charge modern devices that use USB-C, for the three of us staying in the room.
Breakfast was very hit and miss. While I enjoyed mine, along with my son-in-law, the rest of the family did not. I had to wait over 15 minutes for beans despite staff being told they had run out, and some of the satsumas provided were soft and past their best.
We have stayed in Premier Inns across the country and always found them reliable and good value, but sadly this location did not live up to the standard we have come to expect. While this particular stay was not quite up to the usual standard, the helpful staff and convenient location were definite positives.

"Suitable for an overnight stay, just not in summer or for food"
Stayed at the hotel for two nights during a heatwave. The staff were excellent on the front desk and were assist with all our queries. However I was a little disappointed to find that the rooms themselves are like ovens. No air conditioning whatsoever, you are however provided with really loud fans which do provide some rest bite from the unbearable heat.
The biggest disappointment was dinner and breakfast services. Walked down for food around 6, albeit without a booking. They said they didn't have room for us, it was pretty baron, hardly any tables occupied. Made to wait an hour, which we obliged. Time came and we were shown a table, ordinarily you have someone take your order, multiple tables were in the same situation waiting 20 minutes to be served. Invariably everyone got up and went to the bar to order food. Food having now been ordered, the slowest service possible was experienced. Waited over an hour for our food to finally arrive.
Breakfast was reasonable however, was quite shocked that if you wanted something else other than fried eggs you had to wait between 15-20 minutes as they had a backlog. Now this was 7:30 and about 5 tables worth of guests were seated. Not exactly full dining room, and yet they struggled to cook a number of scrambled eggs in that time? How is that possible, alongside restocking other food stuffs.
I am under the impression that the food service part of the hotel is woefully understaffed.
Now if you are only here for a place to stay and not eat at, this is absolutely a reasonable place especially for the price and close proximity to the broads. However, I do not recommend eating here or staying in the summer if you can't handle the heat. If you want to eat go across the road to the fieldfare.

"Our stay at Broadland"
The staff assistant (Donna) could not do enough for us. She went out of her way to assist in a friendly professional manner especially as she seemed overworked and under pressure. Well done to her

"Lovely staff"
My wife and I checked in late on the evening after a long car journey with our two young children. The gentleman on reception Azad was without doubt the best Premier Inn staff member I have come across. He was incredibly helpful, polite and friendly and even offered fresh jar of water with ice We have stayed in a number of Premier Inns over the years but this one will take some beating for the quality of service from the staff
