Norwich City Centre (Duke Street) hotel

Terrible. We had booked two nights for our son’s graduation. Great location, friendly staff and clean rooms BUT the rooms are like saunas. We were not staying during the heatwave it was an average summer temperature, cool in the evenings. The rooms are ridiculously hot. There is no air movement, the windows open a few cm. Consequently the warm air is trapped in the rooms.we did not sleep. Premier inn guarantees a good nights sleep . No way can you sleep in this hotel. I would even go as far as to say that these rooms are not fit for purpose. Fans are supplied but they are USELESS… they just waft warm air around the room. We were so tired and it definitely impacted in our enjoyment of what should have been a lovely experience.

Good location close to city centre. And epic Studios..helpful and friendly staff..would be nice to have air-conditioning throughout

Premiere plus accessible room was very comfortable - the accessible wet room was not so good at end of corridor with many doors to juggle but the Managers Oliver, Ellie and Bethany were FANTASTIC and any issue they sorted straight away with ease and empathy. Justine was run ragged one night but dealt with everyone and everything with a smile on her face - nothing was too much trouble. Head Office should sort out the air con throughout the hotel as the staff were continuously being asked for room changes etc - the staff here this weekend deserve a bonus for what they have had to deal with.

Good location, 20 minute walk from the station but closer to tourist spots. As usual very clean and comfortable bed/bedding/towels. Challenge was the weather, no air con and window only opens an inch. Were provided with fans but just blowing hot air around. Heard people checking in when we got back in the evening and apparently only 20 premier plus rooms do have air con. I did approach reception next morning to ask is anyone was checking out and reception said she would not know unless she looked on the computer system and left it at that. I asked if she would check but clearly not happy about it. The sleep over two nights was horrendous but understand cannot hold them responsible for the heat but its a pretty new building so advertising a great bed might not be enough of a selling point in the summer months. Very handy to store luggage.

Hotel itself was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. One of the lifts was out of action for the duration of our stay. Car parking is 200 yards away and around £17 per 24 hours. Our room on the 3rd floor was unbearably hot, much warmer than outside! The two fans provided simply blew the warm, humid air around. It was not possible to get a good nights sleep, as their advert promises. I would suggest that if the outside temperature gets anywhere near the mid 20s, avoid this hotel at all costs, unless you like sleeping in a greenhouse.
