"Tale of two halves."
Disappointed to be fair. Not snobby by any means but this is more of a complaint about management perhaps rather than anything else and could and should be rectified.
So let’s get the accommodation over with first. It is what it is. Reasonably priced and you get what you pay for. All the basic essentials are there and it fits a purpose, especially for an overnight stay with an early morning flight to catch. We have stayed in numerous Premier inns over the years and may still do so but this was the worst one we have ever stayed in.
The only complaint for the accommodation was that there was only one pillow each. Normally you get two pillows each or there are spare ones in the room but not on this occasion. We had to ask staff for three more and they could only provide more by taking these from another empty room. Was this a management decision or a maid/ cleaner error? Anyhow no big deal in the end but it was a first for a premier inn.
Now the important part of the stay. Will try and keep it short but this can only be a management fault.
So after checking in, went down for a few drinks and some food. Drinks not cheap, £6.50 for pint of average lager but that’s not the issue. Asked for salted crisps, none left, but again it can happen.
So went to order food to sit down in the restaurant. Was told we can’t order food for at least 20 minutes as the Chef was busy and all the grills were taken up by people ordering mixed grill meals?
How did they know I wanted something that needed grilling. Not the best start.
So sat back down and waited another 30 mins before venturing to the bar area to try and re order.
Now we were told at the point of ordering there would be a good wait for food which we quite expected as we could see other people sat down who had been waiting in excess of 45 minutes with no food delivered.
Some even walked out and got a refund due to the wait. Nobody should have to wait that long for food. Nobody. Especially when not informed of the actual wait time in minutes anyhow.
The restaurant is split into 2 rooms and only the small room near the bar area was three quarters full so it wasn’t exactly rammed.
So order was about to be placed and then we were informed that firstly there is no coleslaw, no cheesecake, no bananas, no pesto and something else I can’t remember.
How can it be so easy to run out of staple food like this? Who is at fault?
It’s not as if oysters or truffles were being ordered, this is basic food everywhere sells.
As well as no plain crisps I found it very difficult to understand.
I’m sure they will say they were extremely busy through the day but it wasn’t when we was there and staff member even said it’s not been that busy.
Just not good enough really.
Our meals came. Ok, just average I suppose. The usual stuff which is pre packed and delivered with a headcount on your garden peas or beans but that can be sane these days at a lot similar chains.
It seems to me that there is not enough staff as well. Who knows.
Anyhow just don’t expect top quality food for what you pay and if anything like our stay expect an hour for your food.

"Comfortable stay"
The hotel was very clean, I had a spacious room with a comfortable bed. The receptionist helped with me checking in & as I wanted a quiet room, chose a suitable room. It was a very comfortable stay before flying .

"BEWARE OF THE PARKING CHARGES – VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE BY PREMIER INN"
Disappointing parking experience and lack of follow-up
Unfortunately, what should have been a convenient airport stay turned into a very frustrating experience.
At check-in, I provided my vehicle registration as requested. As my card details were already held and I wasn’t asked to make a separate parking payment, I believed everything had been dealt with. I subsequently received a parking fine.
I contacted the hotel and was advised by Daniel Jones that the matter would be looked into. However, despite several follow-up emails, I have yet to receive a response.
I would strongly advise future guests to confirm exactly how the £15 parking charge needs to be paid and to obtain proof of payment before leaving.
As someone who travels regularly for work, good customer service is extremely important to me. Sadly, the lack of communication following this issue means I would not choose to stay here again.

"Dirty room"
Excellent location but the dirtiest Premier Inn room we've ever had. Awful smell, stain on chair which appeared to be vomit. Spare pillows on shelf had no pillowcases and the protectors had blood and other stains on. Duvet cover had mould stain on the underside. Went to reception to report, nobody about. Spoke to lovely girl behind the bar who had a queue of customers before me waiting to be served. When she became available she apologised profusely and said she would bring fresh pillows which she did. She also removed the dirty chair. Overall appearance of the room was grubby with very large, dusty cobwebs and shower heads that desperately needed descaling. We don't recommend and won't be staying again which is a real shame as staff were lovely but obviously poor management and looking at previous reviews they have not addressed the issues.

"Happy with a Premier"
Stopped off here for the evening before our early morning flight.
Typical premier inn, bathroom had been upgraded to a shower (no bath) which made it look more modernised.
Receptionist was lovely and chatty.
Had dinner which was nice.
Bed comfy
