"Not the finest example of the genre, great location."
I was initially put off this particular Premier Inn, as I found the gentleman on reception to be rude, sarcastic, and unhelpful. Having said that, on the whole, this was a fairly positive experience, and we will use this budget hotel again (for the location, and price, as much as anything). Although we had been warned about building work, and had concerns about the noise level in central Liverpool, it was surprisingly quiet. The room was clean, cool, quiet, and very comfortable. Apart from that one receptionist, staff were fairly pleasant and polite. The restaurant in the evening was not great, by any stretch. Everything was overcooked and flavourless, items were unavailable from the menu, and from the bar. We only went for the meal deal for convenience, and I wish we'd known how many decent bars/restaurants are in spitting distance, and gone for one of those instead. Breakfast was pretty good. Staff were chatty and pleasant, and there was plenty of relatively fresh hot and cold buffet food available. Staff were working hard to keep the decks clear.
"Not a lot going for it"
A shabby Premier Inn. Again faced at the reception with the check in screens and staff asking me to use it, only for them to come round and check me in for me. What's the point? Thought having a 4th floor top room would mean it would be quiet but no, there are some sort of generators up on the roof that make quite a noise 24 hours a day. Windows hadn't been cleaned for ages. A plus was at least you could open them. Bathroom flooded during my stay from underneath suggesting the plug hole plumbing has become detached. Ended up having to use the towels to mop up the puddles. Bed was good and pillows too were of a decent standard. Pokey breakfast area with not a huge amount of places to sit. Staff just went about their business, not particularly welcoming.
    "Ok"
Our first impression of the hotel was an empty reception desk because the 2 female receptionists were outside having a cigarette. We went back out and asked them about parking and they confirmed we were in the correct car park to receive parking for our stay which was about 20 hours, for just £9. Bonus! The room was fine. Bath and over bath shower. Nice comfy bed. The room which didnt look out onto the street was quiet, except for the heavy footed occupants in the room above, we could hear every word and every step. The blackout curtains were excellent. Not so great points, the abundance of drug users walking around on the street outside the hotel, no iron or ironing board in the room so we had to carry them up from reception, drawer in 'wardrobe' wouldn't open. Very little storage space. The room was boiling hot until we discovered air conditioning. No beaker to pop our toothbrushes in, definitely not enough towels for 2 people even for 1 night. Its a great location if visiting the Cavern Club.
    "Avoid this Premier Inn"
Arrived after 5 hour drive, found car park confusing, we pulled into the street & there was a car park opposite Premier Inn which we parked in, only to find out there was another a little further up which is the one we should have parked in Should be made clearer on description although it does say NCP - after multiple delays on our journey & negotiating the tolls into the city our brain capacity was probably depleted upon arrival & we were so glad to see our destination we just parked up Entered the premier inn to a very rude receptionist who wasn’t interested in helping guests but abruptly directed everyone to the machines to self check in. I told her I had a few questions & she snapped back check in there first I checked in & then asked how the car park worked, she informed we were in wrong one & snapped that it says NCP on app I had to ask when / where breakfast was as she didn’t say anything & we figured out ourselves where our room was as again she wasn’t interested We went to the room & we were disappointed. The place is very old & tired & the bathroom smelt of wee but I think it was a damp smell as the bathroom fan was rubbish Our view looked out directly into a building site complete with cranes & several builders so needless to say it was noisy & not very romantic! We’ve stayed in lots of Premier Inns around the UK & find them good value for money some are obviously better than others but this was by far the worst! We’d pre-booked breakfast for 2 mornings which was disappointing too Had to wait ages to be seated despite staff milling around Restaurant was dirty, food on floors, tables not cleared, generally shabby & sticky tables Air con on full blast despite it being early & daytime temps not being over 20 degrees at hottest Staff were lazy, inattentive & more interested in shouting to each other about what coffee they wanted Food was not replenished when finished, we had to find a member of staff willing to get more but still had to wait ages for scrambled eggs Toasters took forever although this is often standard everywhere Staff helped themselves to huge plates of breakfasts despite there still being guests there with no regard to finishing further items of food so if we wanted more it was tough Staff tidied away items of food before 10.30 squirrelling away fruit so not even a banana left Both days myself & my partner had bad stomachs following the breakfast Stocks of coffee & milk in reception were not topped up, multiple guest asking reception staff for milk Check out & eventual discount on car park was good but aside from that there was nothing else good to say about this premier inn
"Two day leisure visit to Liverpoo;"
Hotel well situated, 15 minute walk from Lime Street train station. Self check in which is ok if you don't need any help, if you do you have to ring a bell for someone to come. Room was quite good with a comfy bed and pillows. Only downside there were building works outside of our window. There was also an issue with no milk cartons available for tea/coffee in the room. Also returned to eat in the attached restaurant at around 7 in the evening and there was a sign advising the restaurant was closed. Nobody around to ask, so went back into the city to gat a take a way. On my return, I noticed people going into the restaurant and asked the lady who was dealing with them what was what. "Oh, we hadn't turned the sign round" Very annoying. After all this, because of the location, I would return
