Liverpool City Centre (Lime Street) hotel

Checked in on Sunday 19th August, needed to use the loo in the main foyer, opens the door and No 2 all over the floor and toilet, not a great start, we were staying in a premier plus room, out the lift and there’s faulty flashing lightbulbs along the corridor…Bates Motel vibe, initial thoughts of the room were its tired carpet stained, paint peeling, 3am in the morning and the air con starts making a loud gurgling noise, couldn’t sleep after that, nice powerful shower but unfortunately the shower screen seal at the bottom was missing (didn’t notice until finished in the shower) which in turn soaked the whole of the bathroom floor, spoke with reception and the lady I dealt with couldn’t really care less, we got another room which again the shower screen seal was missing, I have stayed in a lot of Premier Inns in the U.K and have to say this ranks as the worst I have stayed in, I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!

Stayed for 3 nights , requested room clean every day, left towels in bath as instructed. Never saw a cleaner!! Had to get wet towels out of bath to re-use. Ladies hair clip on floor, presumably from previous guest, so obviously not vacuumed before our arrival. Stairwell had white powdered material on the carpet the whole time of stay, so again not vacuumed!! I have used premier inn many times and have always been thrilled . Sadly not with this one. I did report my complaint to management, but other than an apology nothing was done. I would not recommend staying here.

Arrived to a check in desk with no-one about, hidden behind a door and had to wait for them to come out to attend to us. The scanning machines are rubbish but he insisted that we have to use them, these machines do not work, searching for my booking reference for the log in as the QR code didn't work on any machine and it was not just me it was for all that was in the que, this needs looking into as check-in should be quick and easy this was not. Room was great when we eventually got in there, bed very comfortable and great pillows. Loved the bathroom very modern and lovely and clean. 2 nights of great sleep had by both of us. Tea and coffee refillable sachets were available facing the check in desk so that was easy to replenish. Overall a great stay but the check in process definitely needs to be looked into and staff also need to be on shift not hiding behind a door.

Took the train up to Liverpool to see the Beatles sites since I had never been and had a day to do something. The hotel was fine (clean, fast check in plus breakfast included) - Good value for the money.

Lovely clean and quiet hotel 5 minutes from the station, the city centre and the university. Friendly, helpful staff who took my safety seriously. So important for lone female travellers. (I was travelling as a lone woman and won’t use Travelodge after they gave another guest the same key card and they accessed my room.) Rooms well equipped with hairdryers and, in this heat, air con.
