"Good location and would return but ..."
This hotel does have a good location right outside the train station and within 10 minutes walk you are right in the centre for everything. However, a few things spoilt it for us: - When entering the room there was such a strange off smell like chemicals. Once running the air con for 10 mins it went but every time we left and returned it was there. I think it is just from not having free flowing air. A shame when we paid for premier plus. - In the room there were only the two pillows on the bed without the spares in their usual place. During our two night break i asked three times for the extra pillows and never got them (twice was told they would get some and come up, another time i was told there wasn't anymore in the hotel). Not a great sleep on one flat pillow for two nights. - The bed was very creaky and uncomfortable. Was able to get to sleep but woke up with a sore back both mornings. We didn't eat breakfast as wanted to enjoy the city and had lovely breakfasts at both the Cozy Club and Browns. However the restaurant looked good and was busy on a morning so can only assume it was the usual good standard for premier inn. We would return as it was a nice hotel in a nice location, but just a shame on the above as it spoilt our stay.
"Centrally Perfect"
Fantastic central location just across the road from the train station. Within walking distance of everywhere I wanted to be. The outside image is not the best but don’t let that fool you - there’s a warm welcome and comfy rooms inside. Coffee machine in the room - first time seeing that at a PI. Everything was the usual high standard. The staff were extremely friendly and the air on was a welcome relief from the heatwave.
"Room with a view of cycle racks."
Nice easy check in with very helpful staff. Room on 2nd floor accessible by lift. We had a Premier plus double room with very good internet. On entering the room was very dark with just a narrow window from floor to ceiling. Clean and tidy with comfortable bed. Only one hand towel in the bathroom so got another from the cleaner. Turned Tv on and volume is limited so us oldies couldn’t hardly hear anything. We had opted for the meal deal. Not a huge choice but we managed to find something for the three days we were there all served on nice warm plates by chatty staff. All three breakfast meals were very nice but for some reason served on cold plates. It’s your usual Premier in fare. Location is a two minute walk from the railway station which was perfect for us.
"Very hot and stuffy room"
Air Conditioning unit was not working neither was the extractor fan in the bathroom. It was so uncomfortable with having no opening windows we had to prop the front door open.
