"Ok for price"
Location is excellent for all sightseeing
Rooms are large and hotel is quirky due to being an old warehouse building
Windows do not open not even an inch so room was so hot and stuffy
cleanliness was an issue. It was thick with dust You couldn't even see out of the window as it was so filthy (not worth getting a dock view)
We were lucky and got free breakfast included which was good however the food area was too small for the amount of people. Queue was ridiculous. Juice ran out constantly no staff to replace drinks and food or clear tables

"Give it a miss."
Very disappointed with this Premier Inn. Just felt so tired and run down (that's the room, not me). Bedroom window rattled and although I managed to stop the rattle I couldn't stop the draught. Poor lighting in room, horrible toilet paper in square dispenser (ended up buying a pack), terrible hairdryer (take your own). Mildew on ceiling and shower curtain (yes, they still have shower curtains). On the plus side - the bed was comfy and there was plenty of hot water.

"What to expect"
I've been coming to this hotel for years, and I can say each stay has always been absolutely brilliant, or a little disappointing. The location is absolutely wonderful and handy to be so near everything. However, there are a few slight let downs.
1. What room you'll receive is like the lottery. As most modern hotels build every room equal and identical, that's not the case here. Whilst the exposed brickwork looks lovely, it's always a gamble as to what your room will look like. There have been times we've received a wonderful, large room, and times were we've received a dingy, tiny room. If you ever get room 150 (it's windowless!! which lead me to having a total panic attack) or a room on the 'M' floor (this floor is barely above the reception, you can hear noise from outside) and you are a fussy guest or sleeper, just ask to move if there's more rooms available. I do find it totally unfair how you pay the same rate as everyone else, and one person can receive a large room, and one person can receive a room that resembles a coffin.
2. It's in need of a refurb. My partner and I stay in Liverpool twice a year and we come to this hotel least as it is most expensive obviously. The other Premier Inns in the centre are modern, sleek and recently refurbed, wheras this one is dated and looks like it hasn't been refurbished since 2007. A lot of the rooms are a little musty, dusty, murky windows, teeny tiny TV, 90s office style ceiling near where the door is! Don't get me wrong, I find as long as you have a comfy bed (the beds are always amazing in this hotel) and an adequate bathroom, it's okay. It's just this hotel is particularly expensive, so it feels a bit annoying as it's a bit on the shabby side.
3. It's a noisy hotel. Some walls are paper thin. A lot of the smaller rooms are cut in half by a rubbish wall, so hearing your neighbours makes it sound like you are sharing a house as they are so thin. You can hear creaking from the floorboards, and noise from the corridor. It's never the hotel's fault too much about noisy people as they do ask you to be quiet, but as always there are always inconsiderate people who talk at full volume past midnight. If this will bother you, bring earplugs. Lifesaver.
4. Lack of staff. At around half 3 in the afternoon a huge check in queue appears and only one member of staff to deal with it, I always feel terrible for them as they look overworked. My tip would be to arrive to check in at half 2, if your room isn't ready, sit in the lobby and wait, then you can be first in the queue when it forms.
Despite some faults with this hotel, it's a beautiful building with such amazing character, and it does hold a special place in my heart. It's a great place to visit. If you're a particularly fussy traveller, book somewhere else as you may be disappointed.

"Disappointing Stay – Noisy, Tired Rooms and Poor Service."
I stayed at the Premier Inn Liverpool City Centre (Albert Dock) for three nights on a business trip and unfortunately, it was a very poor experience from start to finish.
The room itself was extremely basic and the walls were paper thin — I could hear every word and movement from neighbouring rooms. The first night, two guests partied until 6am, and the following night a couple continued until around 4am. I barely slept for two nights running. This was made worse by ongoing building works directly outside, which I wasn’t informed about until check-in — far too late to make alternative arrangements.
My room was positioned above the main entrance, meaning I couldn’t open the curtains without people being able to see straight in. The constant noise from guests coming and going through the entrance door was relentless.
Service in the bar and restaurant was particularly poor on the second night. Only one member of staff was on duty, taking orders, serving drinks, and delivering food. She was doing her absolute best under impossible pressure and deserves credit, but guests were waiting a long time and many simply left.
Breakfast was basic and uninspiring. The scrambled eggs were runny and waterlogged, and overall, it didn’t feel worth the extra cost. The bathroom had a strong, unpleasant smell that didn’t improve over the stay, and the room had only two plug sockets — none near the bed, which made charging devices awkward.
Overall, this stay was disappointing. Between the noise, building works, tired facilities, and poor service, I would not stay here again or recommend it for business or leisure.
