      "Excellent location"
Excellent customer service. A wonderful location close to every thing. A good clean and quiet room. Breakfast was fantastic in a good setting.
      "Do not stay here !"
We had previously stayed here in 2019 and could not believe how it had deteriorated since then. It is badly in need of a complete refurbishment. The reception area is dark and dingy. Carpets in the communal areas are dirty and stained. There are two lifts but only one was working, with no signs informing of this. There is a change of policy so if you want your room cleaned during your stay you have to request this. It is no longer done automatically. Our room was on the 3rd floor. There were holes in the curtains, the handle kept falling off the bathroom door and the air conditioning sounded like a jet engine. We had breakfast for 2 of the mornings which was fine but it does appear that they are understaffed. We did report the air conditioning to a young lady who I assumed could be the manager as she was not wearing a uniform. If so, she is definitely in the wrong career and in need of a training course in Customer Service. She was rude, unhelpful and totally unprofessional. This is all such a shame as it is a lovely building in a great location..
      "Disappointing - Would not recommend."
We hadn't stayed at a Premier Inn for about 2 years and cannot believe how standards had dropped. Our stay started well, the gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful, but it went downhill from there. The lift area on each floor smelt like sewage, there were two lifts, but one was working. We had 4 rooms, on entering the first room on the first floor, we were meet with an overwhelming stale damp musty smell and quite alot mortar had fallen from the ceiling on the bedcover and on the carpet. We told reception and the mortar was cleanup, but when we returned later, more had fallen on the bed. The aircon didn't work in any of the rooms, but we were provided in each room with an electric radiator and a fan. The decor in all the rooms were very tired, There was duck tape on the curtains in one room, and the windows were definitely overdue a clean, Breakfast was good, but some of the staff appeared to wish they were elsewhere. On the second morning, we asked if there was any chance of moving the family member in the first room to one that didn't smell or have a crumbling ceiling, the answer was no. because they didn't have enough staff. So to make our trip to Liverpool a more pleasant experience, we move to a different hotel for our second night.
      "Great weekend away"
We have stayed here now at least 6 times. Every time we go to Liverpool we stop here now ,fantastic building turned in to a hotel .It's right in the centre of a triving tourist spot .Great bars and restaurants near by with bus tours ,and 10 minutes away from shops ,and the city centre.
      "unfortunately not a great experience"
Extremely poor room, (140) first floor , very little natural day light, had to have room lights on at all times and no opening windows, an extremely hot weekend , the noise of the creaking hallway floors was crazy as other guests walked to there room i know its a lovely old building but something needs to be done, only there thankfully for one night, breakfast on Sunday morning was a bit chaotic and they ran out of parts of the english breakfast, all in all not a great experience
