Birkenhead Town Centre hotel

Just a two night solo trip to get a bit of peace and quiet, it scored on every level, and I not only got to escape, I enjoyed my self.

Arrived to be advised the accessible wet room I had booked & had written confirmation of for my disabled mother had been allocated to someone else & there were now no accessible rooms available. Julie, the duty manager did her best with what was available & offered a standard room with a shower with just one step up. She provided me with the telephone number for guest relations at my request. My mother was then in a room which was too small to safely accommodate her electric scooter & had a bed that she was unable to get in or out of without help. A panel was also hanging off the wall which had electric sockets on it. I called guest relations on my return home & was advised that as a gesture of goodwill they would offer £19 by way of a refund. A full refund was not within their ‘policy’ as it did not fall under their good night’s sleep policy. I’m unsure how having to wake someone else up in the middle of the night to get help getting in & out of bed to use the bathroom would constitute a good night’s sleep. I explained I have 9 more rooms booked in the next few weeks, 3 of which I had written confirmation are accessible wet rooms which are essential & the response I received was ‘if there’s a problem when you visit, you’ll need to call us again after your stay’. There was no offer to check my other bookings. My issue is not about the money, I simply want what I have paid for & have written confirmation of for my vulnerable disabled mother.

My stay at the Premier Inn Birkenhead was superb. The staff were friendly and attentive. They were happy to look after my suitcase while I went across to the Exhibition Centre Liverpool for an event. After the event, I returned to the hotel to check in. The room was clean and tidy. The next morning (Sunday), breakfast was good. No complaints.

A bit disappointing. We'd booked early check in but when we arrived no rooms wete available so we had to wait. No-one was on teception to help us and the couple of other groups also trying to book in. The booking email said the car park price had gone but but if we speak to reception they'd honour the original price - we couldnt do thst. We were massively helped by staff member Sharon who isn't a receptionist but got into the system to find us a room - thanks Sharon, well done. The room itself was fine.
