"Exploring Birkenhead"
A most enjoyable experience. Well placed for Merseyrail services and the Futureyard venue. Very friendly staff, comfortable bed, and well laid out room. Very good shower. Very good all you can eat breakfast. Great value for money.

"Great! But checking in is now a fiasco!"
Great stay. Very comfy bed. This time, vegan breakfast options were available and plenty of it! Again, at breakfast a lovely lady who has dealt with us before was amazing! Couldn't do enough for us! Took our order, gave us allergy info, very attentive and absolute credit to the hotel! We need to get her name next time because on two occasions she's gone above and beyond!
Only massive downside is the new check in system! No one on reception!? Have to check yourself in? Scanner doesn't easily scan your phone? Left struggling when I was in a hurry..waited for someone to finally come over and help. I can't imagine how difficult this is for an elderly person that is no good with technology! For the sake of saving paying one person to be at reception its ridiculous!

"Very poor"
The room was shabby, in need of decorating and dusty. The bathroom was appalling with dirty soap dispenser, paintwork was filthy, fan didn't work and shower tray was chipped. Also we were only given one key card despite requesting a second and were told no as only three left!! We believe the shortage of cards led to us being woken during the night by other guests knocking on doors asking to be let in. Previously I have experienced high standards from Premier Inns. This was a shock and lets the brand down.

"Good value alternative to staying in Liverpool"
Good -
Super comfy bed, quiet room, good food menu.
Friendly staff (particularly the breakfast team!)
Inexpensive compared with staying the other side of the Mersey.
Just a straight forward, 5 minute walk to the railway station where there are trains into Liverpool every 10/15 minutes (3 minute journey!)
Not so good -
'Challenging' to find by car on your first visit as it's right by the entrance to the Mersey Tunnel (yes, like, reportedly, many others we had to pay to for a round trip through the tunnel to get back to the hotel on our first attempt!).
Virtually nowhere else to eat nearby.
