"Friendly staff team absolutely made my stay!"
I can’t thank the staff enough for how kind and friendly they were to me. I can’t remember any names unfortunately, but would specifically like to thank the guy working on the bar and the lady serving on the evening of Sunday 22nd March - I was nervous to be staying alone and they were incredibly accommodating and made me feel so comfortable. I had planned to try some different food spots around the area, but ended up coming down to the restaurant every night because of this.
I stayed Sunday 22nd - Thursday 26th March and every single staff member I encountered was nothing short of delightful.
I work in a 4* luxury spa hotel in Devon and the way the staff in Skegness made me feel so at ease is exactly how we hope the guests feel when they stay with us.
Thank you a million times over, I can’t quite express how grateful I am for the kindness I experienced on my short trip away!
I really don’t think there is anything negative I could comment on… the staff were beyond lovely, food was great, lots of vegan options, my room was clean, the shower was a perfect pressure and I had a glimpse of sea from my window. A less than five minute walk from the beach meant I had the opportunity to catch two beautiful sunrises, and though I didn’t explore town much, it’s conveniently close.
Would absolutely recommend, especially to any particularly anxious solo stayers, and will be staying there again if/when I’m next up this way!

"Worst Premier Inn I've stayed at 2"
Unfortunately, you can’t edit or update trip advisor reviews so this is a rewrite of the review on 3rd March 2026 which I have deleted and contains an update on the current situation following contact with customer services.
*Original Review*
Skegness Premier Inn is near the beach and convenient for the theatre. The reception area is spartan and not at all welcoming. There is reliance on self-check in with front of house staff only being available using a bell.
The rooms are small as is the bed and personally not very comfortable. The windows were filthy. Heating was unable to raise the room (212) to a reasonable temperature.
Evening food was great but you are better off using a brewers fayre discount code than the all-inclusive option. Breakfast was a disaster as the hotel had suffered a power cut so not hot drinks and food was lukewarm.
Now for the show stopping BIG problem. The toilet would not flush and was constantly running which kept me awake most of the night. There are no maintenance staff or attempt to call an emergency plumber so it was impossible to flush away number 2s. I asked for a bucket but that was beyond their capability to supply, eventually used the waste bin to flush the toilet. No new room or compensation was offered. Bathroom was very wet by the morning.
Tea and coffee was supplied but you had to fill the kettle from the bath tap as the sink tap is so restricted it would take all day to fill it.
One bath towel supplied for 2 people. Had to go down to reception to get a second towel.
Gave it a 2 star review as no one really reads 1 star ones but in reality it isn't worth zero stars. Whitbread have taken cost cutting too far and this is the worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed at. Except for the guy with the green hair, who went above and beyond to help, the hotel staff con only be described as unhelpful and surly. Restaurant staff were great.
*Update 17/03/2026*
Phoned customer services and the response was along the lines “you should have reported this within 7 days of checkout”. Firstly I was never informed of this requirement and secondly, I had already raised the complaint directly with the hotel and they had noted it on the booking reference. The outcome was "we are going to do nothing about this".
Let me say that the customer service agent Amr was absolutely brilliant but like the hotel staff he was powerless to do anything due to Whitbread's customer last policy (my words).
I will now be raising a section 75 complaint via the credit card company for failure to provide the service paid for and will keep this review updated as to how this and the next steps went.
Would now rate the company as a minus 1 star as it really doesn’t give a xxxx about customers, just money.
Whitbread need to understand that their monopoly on reasonable hotel accommodation in Skegness has gone and a new Travel Lodge has been built a few hundred yards down the road. Guess where I will be booking next time?

"Disappointed...."
As a frequent Premier Inn visitor, we were looking forward to staying at the Skegness hotel for the first time. Sadly, it didn't meet the standard of the others we have stayed in.
Don't get me wrong, the rooms were clean and the staff were very pleasant. However, the rooms were lacking what we normally have. There was no desk chair, no armchair, no water glasses, one bedside table missing, only one towel for two of us. Our friends room were missing glasses, towel and armchair, too.
