"Room hot and stuffy"
No-one on reception ever!!! Very hot and stuffy in rooms, I hate air con, drys my throat, no access to open slightly adjacent window
"Over night stay."
One night stay for Theater visit. Great location for all amenities & attractions. Very cosy place. Excellent stay very helpful staff. Good food. Nice room clean warm comfortable & excellent wet room all very easy accessibly.
"Under staffed."
We have stayed in plenty of Premiers all over Britain. It's such a shame this hotel is in a good location and good car parking net door. The main problem here is they are very under staffed. The young girl on reception was not only checking people in but running the bar as well. Hence the big queue of people checking in.The same at breakfast the man was run off his feet. I really felt sorry for the staff. As they are so busy they have no time for customer interaction. I had requested a double room with a walk in shower. But got a room with a bath with shower over. As I'm disabled i couldn't get in the bath.Thankfully we was only stayed one night. Premier inn definitely need to employ more staff so this hotel can run more efficiently.
"Disgusting"
Stayed here to attend a gig across the road at The Drill. It started bad with a chaotic check-in but WOW, what a filthy disgusting place. We stayed in room 426 and it’s the worst smelling room we’ve ever had. The smell was so bad it stuck in the back of your throat and that was just the room. The bathroom was even worse and smellt so bad of mould and damp we couldn’t bring ourselves to use it. Hardly had any sleep all night and at 6am wed had enough and had to get up and leave. All the next day we were coughing up that horrible smell. Worse still, reported it to Premier Inn and they wouldn’t even give a refund just a thanks for the feedback. So much for a guaranteed good nights sleep.
"Good but lack of staff"
I booked a premium plus room for 4 nights in September and although I loved the room and the perks for being premium Premier Inn, customer service leaves a lot to be desired. There's nothing wrong with the hard working staff that do work there but the lack of staff is the big issue. I don't usually eat in the hotel, I prefer visiting different pubs, but the menu looked so good I though there was enough good food on there to eat every night. I ate the first night but on the second night I was told they were very busy and I would have to wait for 1/2 to 1 hour, I didn't! Looking at the restaurant it was by no means full but I think the lack of staff running about everywhere was the problem. I left an item in my room and when I went to call to ask if it was picked up by housekeeping, I couldn't get through to the reception for a few days. I finally got through one day and the lady said that it was there, I asked if they could post it up and she said yes. I went on holiday for two weeks and when I got back it still hadn't arrived (did they send it???). I've tried to call again today to see if it was posted but after 6 attempts to get past the AI "I'll direct you" 😡 I actually managed to get the reception phone to ring (twice) but it rang out both times (lack of staff???) I usually stay in the Holiday Inn Express in Lincoln as the staff, service and reception service are far superior. The car park round the corner from the hotel was good and easy to use. Premier Inn do yourself a favour and ditch the AI and actually have a person on reception.
