"The good, the bad and the bumbling."
The good, the bad and the bumbling There is no doubt the staff are good, no not just good but brilliant! Theres Bee so cheerful, so helpful, has a can do attitude - can do reception, can do the bar, can do the dining room, can do sorting out rooms. Well done Bee! Lucy is a human dynamo with a brilliant personality and boundless energy. Lovely person brightens any room. Rick wasn’t aware that others noticed and were impressed with his caring and courteous attitude as he gave of his best to a severely disabled guest. No fuss just professional kindness. Brilliant staff unfortunately they are let down by the bad a rather run down hotel. The Premier Inn has it all - great location, comfortable bedrooms, reasonable rates and some of the worst filthy carpets and furniture of any hotel. Its as if there is a world shortage of cleaning agents and machines. Its all down to us guests if we didn’t throw food around and spill drinks everywhere then the hotel would sparkle. True it doesn’t help when food is cleaned off tables straight on to the floor but that doesn’t account for the heavily stained fabrics on furniture. In the lift lobby it might be a better option to tarmac the floor rather than put carpet down (then the road sweeper could just add the foyer to the city centre route). The bumbling is the left hand not knowing what the right is doing -booked two rooms, room 1 for the males 2 blokes and a boy with room 2 for the females 2 ladies and a girl. Crikey who knew getting separate beds for everyone would be so difficult? Thankfully the lady in the grey suit sorted it (she too was extremely good at looking after the disabled guest mentioned earlier). Turns out Premier Inns don’t do single beds but thats a story for a foggy night). Seems mission control don’t know about sleeping arrangements that not everyone wants to share a double bed. Lincoln is a great city to visit, the Premier Inn is in a great location, the staff are hard working and brilliant but the place needs a thorough deep clean. Enjoy your stay
"Brilliant"
Amazing place, great bedroom and had most of what we needed minus the fridge which you only get in a premium room. Great wheelchair accessible options, good size room to get around in a wheelchair, comfy bed
"PI need to do better"
Premier Inn is usually my go-to hotel chain, but this stay was disappointing. Good location with excellent NCP car park next door, comfy bed, good shower as you’d expect, but rather a lot of minus points. Check in system wasn’t working when we arrived so a queue of guests trying to check in and 2 staff members valiantly trying to get keycards cut. Room smelled of smoke and despite having the a/c on whenever we were in the room it continued to smell stale and musty. Had to air my (unworn) clothes when I got home, not what you expect. Not enough staff at breakfast - on day one there were just 2 people to do all the check-ins, take orders, replenish supples etc, on day two there was just one, and at 8.30am the bakery products had pretty much gone. There were other niggles ( slow wifi, iffy hairdryer, no radio on TV ), so all in all not our best PI experience. Staff were friendly but just seemed overwhelmed - come on PI, you need to up your game.
"Not suitable for a business stay"
Room noisy, can hear everything in next room. Water out if tap is undrinkable. Wifi is unusable. In a posiitve the docr and cleanliness is good
"Nights stay to attend a concert"
Excellent size and very clean room, bed was comfy too. Free WiFi wasn't great though, speed was too slow to even play a game so I just used data. Only 2 teabags too which I was a little disappointed but overall it was lovely, warm and inviting and perfect for where we were going.
