Clean hotel. Extremely helpful staff. Sarah on the front desk couldn’t have been more lovely!

We have stayed in Premier Inn North a few time over the years, our last 2 stays Jan 2026 & April 2026 were first class, very friendly and helpful staff, our room were nice and clean, Kelly the Manageress was on hand and all way very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be staying in this Hotel again.

Family Room – £70 per night Thursday 2 April 2026 We arrived for check-in at around 17:00 and were greeted by a very pleasant member of staff at reception named DJ. His energy was excellent, and he was extremely polite. He also gave our two children Easter eggs, which was a lovely and unexpected touch. There is a linked pub called the The Roebuck, just a short walk across the car park, where we were able to pre-book dinner and breakfast time slots—DJ kindly arranged both for us. We then went up to our room, which was honestly lovely. It was very spacious, clean, and felt almost new. There were no issues at all. We headed over to the pub for dinner. The food itself was decent, but the service was quite slow. At one point, the staff member serving us could not be found when we were trying to pay the bill, and we had to go and find them ourselves. We slept very well with no issues—comfortable beds and no noticeable noise from within the hotel. The next morning, we returned to the pub for breakfast. The pricing was £8.99 for continental only, or £10.99 for both continental and a cooked breakfast, with kids eating free when an adult purchased the full option. The hot breakfast was quite basic and slightly overcooked, and again, the service was a bit lacking, which let it down slightly. That said, despite the food service not being the best, we would definitely stay at this hotel again. The attitude and energy from DJ gave us an excellent first impression and really shows how strong customer service at the start can outweigh shortcomings in other areas. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms and bathrooms are excellent, no issues at all. Reception staff friendly and welcoming. The only issue was room was boiling hot even with the fan on, this is quite normal for many premier inns. The problem with this place is the restaurant they use for food service. It’s almost as if they’ve been forced to offer the premier inn breakfast as part of some sort of agreement. The pub is absolutely filthy inside and out, and the breakfast isn’t a premier inn breakfast. The items on the buffet are different, none of the same pastries etc, hot food items are different and they don’t even offer the vegetarian range. They deliberately don’t have a menu out (nor does the hotel make any mention of ‘premier inn’ breakfast, just breakfast)

The location was ideal for our stay and although close to the A6 the room was very quiet. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy. The wonderfully cheerful welcome on arrival from DJ set up a great atmosphere for us. Equally on checkout Kelly carried that good feeling on. All in all a great stay in many ways due to the cheerful, professional staff.
