Preston East hotel

Stayed here on business for 2 nights. The hotel is located right off the M6 motorway with a motorway access slip road at the back, rooms facing this way experience a constant dull drone noise from the traffic which disturbed me but other may not find it a problem. The room was in need of refurbishment, and other people travelling with me had poor experiences, one had a room that smelled badly of smoke, another found empty crisp packets and drinks bottles under the bed, during our stay the rooms were not cleaned. The reception area is tiny and the hotel has little facilities other than a bar area and a snack machine that didn't work. The nearest shop is just a 5-10 minute walk away at a local service area however more facilities are too far away and requires a drive. The hotel is budget friendly however there are other options close by if you have a car so would advise to check options before booking.

Checked in to a tired room. One curtain hanging off its rail, 2 lights blown, battery missing from wall heater panel. All a bit underwhelming. Worse though is that the super fast WiFi was appalling (I was on the ground floor), and to make matters worse it’s a mobile dead zone for EE, Sky and O2 mobile. So it was a night of no tech when I needed to work. Very 1980’s. To top it off - when I queried the WiFi at reception the response was to give me a voucher for the… super fast WiFi … that didn’t work. Doh! On a plus point the room was clean and as ever a comfortable bed.

Bathroom very poor a lot of mould, plastic bath panel peeling and judging by water mark slight leak from toilet. Stayed 2 nights: first breakfast buffet barely warm food, cold plates and by time sat down all food was cold. Second breakfast perfect ordered and served at table? Coffee machine not working whole visit.

We stayed here on route to Scotland on Friday 4th Sept, as ever premier inn give a breat nights sleep - we had a Plus room which is worth the little extra ££ every time in my view. The staff here were particularly friendly and kind, especially the nice lady manager / supervisor who helped us with our WiFi codes and made us very welcome not only checking in but also at breakfast the next day. She is a great representative for the company. Sadly I don't get her name but she has lovely silverr hair. Breakfast was great and I was grateful to the chef for making me poached eggs specially this morning (5th Sept). Thoroughly recommended .

The hotel has sited an Amazon parcel collection point locker just outside of reception which constantly beeps non-stop. If you are given a room at the front of the hotel near reception you will be unable to have your window open due to the constant beeping. I raised the issue with reception in the evening and the following morning and was advised by each team member that a number of guests have raised the issue and that I should raise a complaint. Having raised the issue with Guest Relations they have attempted to shirk all responsibility as the noise is external yet it is they who have agreed the contract with Amazon and sited the parcel collection point lockers in this position. I have asked they include this fact in the website description of this hotel, Guest Relations have advised 'Any decisions regarding website content and property information sit with the appropriate internal departments and will be considered as part of that review process' I will check frequently to ensure this is updated and if not will repeat this review until resolved
