Preston East hotel

Excellent experience, room clean , comfortable bed , staff fantastic and well mannered, food was the best , not over cooked or been sitting around for hours , small batch cooked , well done chefs ...

Last minute night away before a day out bowling in Blackpool, perfect location just off the M6, 30 minutes from the green I was playing at on the Saturday. Arrived 7pm Friday and was greeted by very polite and courteous front desk clerk who sorted our breakfast booking etc. After checking in, went for dinner in The Social and was met by the wonderful Payal. We were offered a first class service by Payal who sorted our meal order out, including sorting out my menu choice separately to my allergies. At breakfast next morning, Payal was again covering service and sorted my breakfast order separately (due to my allergies). Nothing was too much trouble for Payal and she is a credit to Premier Inn.

Arrived for a four night stay, given a menu to read while we had a drink. Came to order, no nachos, no king prawns , no cauliflower. That’s 25% of the menu gone. As we’re staying for 4 nights, I asked if those items were likely to be available on subsequent nights to be told, I doubt it 🤷🏻‍♂️. I did suggest someone could pop into Tesco tomorrow and do some shopping but apparently that’s not allowed. How do you run out of Nachos which come in a sealed package with a shelf life of 12 months or prawns which come frozen. As we had already had a drink we ate in. It seems the chef had a timer, 15 minutes after our starters arrived, the mains were brought out without anyone checking if we had finished our starters. The food we had was ok but really, who does the ordering? No I know, no one does.🤦 Nice room but it seems we will be eating out on subsequent nights.

Stayed here on business for 2 nights. The hotel is located right off the M6 motorway with a motorway access slip road at the back, rooms facing this way experience a constant dull drone noise from the traffic which disturbed me but other may not find it a problem. The room was in need of refurbishment, and other people travelling with me had poor experiences, one had a room that smelled badly of smoke, another found empty crisp packets and drinks bottles under the bed, during our stay the rooms were not cleaned. The reception area is tiny and the hotel has little facilities other than a bar area and a snack machine that didn't work. The nearest shop is just a 5-10 minute walk away at a local service area however more facilities are too far away and requires a drive. The hotel is budget friendly however there are other options close by if you have a car so would advise to check options before booking.

Checked in to a tired room. One curtain hanging off its rail, 2 lights blown, battery missing from wall heater panel. All a bit underwhelming. Worse though is that the super fast WiFi was appalling (I was on the ground floor), and to make matters worse it’s a mobile dead zone for EE, Sky and O2 mobile. So it was a night of no tech when I needed to work. Very 1980’s. To top it off - when I queried the WiFi at reception the response was to give me a voucher for the… super fast WiFi … that didn’t work. Doh! On a plus point the room was clean and as ever a comfortable bed.
