"A top class Premier Inn"
I have been to a few Premier Inn hotels over the years but this one is possibly the best that I have experienced. Cracking location just 100 yards or so from Blackburn Railway Station. They had some fancy online checking in system in the reception. A friendly member of staff showed me how to use it. I stayed in room number 111. It was upstairs. There was a lift and stairs. The room was large, comfortable with a nice ensuite. The shower was over a bath complete with a shower curtain. A screen would have been better rather than a curtain which can cling to one's body. There was complimentary tea and coffee in the room. There was a big double bed and a single bed in the room. An incredible view of a car park was also on offer. The more expensive rooms on the opposite side of the hotel have a nice view of the cathedral. I booked the "meal deal" which included evening dinner and breakfast for about £26 I think it was. I thought that was good value. The meals were served in the hotel's own restaurant. The choice of food was excellent and there was good friendly service. They looked after my bag for a few hours after I checked out in the morning. That was very handy. The hotel is a fair old walk to Ewood Park - perhaps half an hour, and that involves some uphill walking. All in all, a very enjoyable stay in this Lancashire industrial town.

"Declining Quality Increasing Prices"
A plain modern looking multistorey hotel in central Blackburn close to the Cathedral and Railway Station.
There is an open unsupervised car park close by that guests can use free of charge.

"More Pro's than cons"
Premier Inn Blackburn review
There are more pro's than cons
It started fairly good as we arrived, we saw a kiosk or a touchscreen device, but were none the wiser about its purpose
A member of staff then showed us how to do a self Check-in
I thought this was a good idea. However, it wasn't clear that this was required and certainly required assistance
I can see that the company want to make things much more self-service. However, this seems to always need Someone to guide customers through
I'm seeing in premiere in that there seems to be an issue with efficiency versus excellence and efficiency is the way forward
However, with premier Inn and their business model and price point, this is perfectly acceptable.
How did I get to a 5 star review?
Well, the way I calculate my points is to start with 5 Stars and then add points for items, which are outstanding and exceptional and then remove Stars for things that are less so . So with premier Inn Blackburn, the location is outstanding, it's literally across the road from Blackburn Train station. Also, the meal deal and pricing is outstanding for £136 myself and my son had a comfortable overnight Stay included our unlimited buffet breakfast and also included our dinner and a glass of wine if required
The buffet breakfast was Of a very good standard, plenty of juices plenty of coffee, plenty of food. Also the ability to order particular items like poached or scrambled eggs
However, the quality of service was merely good as self-service will never be as good quality as excellent personal Service. The room was comfortable. The thermostat worked we were able to adjust the temperature as required. There didn't seem to be enough towels for both of us, but we may do.
So a very comfortable stay and everything as we needed
Premier Inn does exactly what it says on the tin.

"Good location, meets needs"
Hotel is very convenient for the railway station and town centre. The rooms are looking a little tired now but of course with Premier Inn the bed is very comfy and always have a great night sleep. I find the staff a bit of a mixture, some are extremely friendly while most are surly and unattentive.

"Great night's stay."
Check in was quick and easy. My room was clean, tidy and contained everything required during my stay. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with plenty of choice.
