Tonbridge hotel

Friendly welcome on check in. Room temperature easy to control. Bed clean. Rooms need a bit of TLC, someone with a paintbrush has gone in and tried to hide the scuff marks. Plenty of tea and coffee in the rooms. The restaurant next door was useful for breakfast and evening meal. The food is good for the amount you pay. All staff there except for one! They had obviously paid attention to their customers service training and were very attentive and cared that you had an enjoyable meal and experience. Parking free which is an added bonus.

Usual easy booking and check in. We arrived late and got the room key easily. We were awoken by the fire alarm at 8am, we vacated quickly and after hanging around in the car park for 5 minutes with no staff appearing to clarify the situation we just went for breakfast. We saw one other family as we left the building so not sure how well the evacuation went, where the staff were or how long the issue took. No-one came looking for us and by the time we'd had breakfast it was all over. Overall we like the Premier Inn offer as the hotels are standard, you know what you are getting and the breakfast is good. For info this hotel is not an unlimited hot buffet, you order your hot breakfast and it was cooked to order. It was good quality but if you want to browse the hot food options it doesn't work like that. We didn't need seconds but I expect they'd let you have another plate as it did say "unlimited". Continental options were all laid out. I'm sure this combination reduces waste which isn't a bad thing. Bread & pastry options were also better quality & taste than the usual sliced loaves and proper butter in a butter dish was a lovely treat! The restaurant staff were very attentive. The coffee was good too. Overall I thought the food quality was better than the standard buffet option. The big issue we've experienced is trying to track down some lost property. We've called the hotel directly (no answer and & no response to the answer machine messages), tried contacting them via the website, logged a "case", emailed and have had no response whatsoever. Disappointing. Yes we managed to leave something which is our fault but it's like talking to the black hole of Premier Inn corporate. Please contact us, we've left lots of messages and would really like to know if you've found our fleece & can assist to get it back to us.

Rooms were a little tired looking, paintwork, but the bed was really comfortable linen spotless and the shower was great! The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food and service in the pub next door was excellent, ample parking

Unfortunately, the young lady on check- in was unfamiliar with computer software used. My Wife and I experienced disturbed sleep, due to noise from the team room opposite. Mainly, the door being opened and closed! Not a great stay for one night!
