Maidstone (West Malling) hotel

Excellent example of this budget motel chain. Comfortable room with accessible shower. Good food, freshly cooked. Service extremely good, especially from Niall and Jan. Niall was a conscientious and friendly server, taking time to ensure everything was satisfactory

The room was pretty poor, with a complete dead zone for data and WiFi. The WiFi was not working in our room, and would not work full stop. The room temperature stayed at 29.5 all day, and night as a heat trap and we could not cool it down. The bathroom smelt damp and mouldy. Breakfast was an order to be cooked which was nice. But the drinks were terrible and none existent - empty jars. Pastries were empty and no bread. We asked 3 times but had little response - by this time. We left.

While the food at the restaurant and the staff (Stacey) were fantastic, the lack of sleep ruined our stay. The rooms were so hot! There’s no aircon in the current building and the fan they provide that sits on the desk, while great while you’re stood next to it, offers no relief from what the thermostat claims to be a 30 degree room while you try and sleep. The location is great. Very convenient and quiet and the current construction caused no disturbance during the stay. But based on the heat of the rooms and lack of sleeps I wouldn’t recommend staying here in summer months if there’s an ongoing heatwave!

Birthday weekend trip away to Brands Hatch - so, easy access to the track (20 mins). Plenty of parking, not sure if that will still be the same after the new block of rooms is open.. But the staff there were brilliant - all happy and efficient -

A very good location with good facilities on site, i.e. a social bar / restaurant area Easy to find the hotel and parking was available, even though some work is ongoing adjacent to the site. Room was very spacious and in excellent condition
