Rainham (Kent) hotel

The rooms are very dated, very worn, and damaged. The rooms are clean but where everything is worn and damaged it takes away from this. The tea station in reception was missing items to top up. Carpet it worn and thorn throughout. There is not passenger lift within the place so if you’ve got heavy cases you use the service linen lift. There was limited staff when we stay which meant they had to shut the restaurants for breakfast and dinner meaning we had to find other alternatives. The rooms are very over priced for what’s being offered, we paid £134 per night for one of the most run down premier inns we’ve stayed in.

Premier Inn is my 'go to' hotel as the consistency is always there so you always know what you're getting... The Rainham (Kent) hotel is no different. Excellent accommodation as expected, comfy bed as expected and courteous staff. All said, everything was just what I wanted.

The hotel is well located, providing a good base to travel around the area. The staff are excellent, and their performance goes a long way to mitigating the obvious issues being experienced by the business. Massive investment would be needed to improve the infrastructure of the hotel, but that is not likely to happen because at some time in the near future, it is due to be closed down.

The room setup was good with a lower single child’s bed and a double bed. Unfortunately we were on the ground floor with my son’s bed right up against the bedroom window, and next to a busy road junction. So we had an uncomfortable warm & stuffy sleep with the window closed. Very bad value for money at £100 for 1 night during a mid-week stay. The breakfast was really bad. The bread, pastries and all cereal were stale, the clearly out-of-a-tin fruit was so dried up, I hate to think how many days it’s been put back out. Compared to the menu, so many items were missing: different types of bread, juice, jams, etc. Very little fresh fruit and the juice was certainly not fresh. Coffee machine not working. Honestly really quite shocking even for £10.99 for the both of us

Came into this room and smelt like pickles! Soon to find out, it was juice all over the bathroom floor…. Or vinegar? Room was jet hot and curtains had mysterious substances clung to them? Hesitant to close and still looked wet?! Good luck if you’re coming here! Hotter than the surface of the sun!
