Dover Central (Eastern Ferry Terminal) hotel

Its about time Dover Central had a refurb. Weve been staying there for years and its now getting to the point that its no longer tolerable. The bathrooms are disgusting, nearly all the rooms smell awful, and the decor is in terrible condition. The TableTable restaurant for breakfast is a disgrace. The tables and chairs are as though they've been held together with grime, the plaster is falling off the walls and the staff are so poor and beyond belief. Cannot understand that your staff served parents with 3 children dressed in pajamas at 21.30 at the bar!!

I have been to multiple premier inns but will never return to this one again. Pros.. room was clean that was it Cons …. Staff rude I work in hospitality an I know you can have a bad day but in this business a smile an eye contact goes a long way also when your a customer you don’t need to hear staff bitching it’s not their problem this is your job if not be polite an find someone who is willing to help. The restaurant was poor not much stock an you must know how many people are staying if you don’t have change a polite notice saying card only would have been better than having to give people change in 20p. Breakfast was lukewarm an cups were dirty an no one clearing away. Also not clean a floor wet from leaks in ceiling a next morning still not been cleared up. Also if you press buzzer for any help no one comes although the night person when we all came back was very smiley an polite

Comfort: 3. Beds are small my kids feet even stick out the bottom of his bed... edge of beds are hard but pillows were good the rooms are big so thats a extra star Presentation: 1. Restaurant looks nice... sort of.... but theres holes cobwebs and water leaks through out the hotel Cleanliness: 2. In the restaurant there is crumbs everywhere on the floor mostly dirty tables... and sticky floors Hygiene: 1... for the restaurant theres dirty cups in the clean cup section... they bearly clean them... 0 clean tea spoons all are dirty Noise: 0 theres a kid above us jumping and running around on the floor above us 24/7 Customer service: 1... the workers are nice but they are understaffed and when we complained about the people above us constantly banging and stuff they didnt do anything... they have no one at reception and no bell to ring to get them... they expect us to know how to sign in on a computer and if you dont you have to wait!?!?!?!? They are so lazy they cant be asked to do anything.... 1 worker was doing everything and the others were just lazy chatty and miserable we got a refund for breakfast only and we have to call customer service again for a full refund This is the WORST hotel I have stayed at I have been to atleast 100 Premier inns and other hotels and every single one I have been two is better than this... this hotel makes other bad hotels look luxury Ther location is calming though if you like the sea This hotels atmosphere looks welcoming however once you get there there is nothing worse For 1 night we payed £80 excluding breakfast. This is not worth it they think this hotel has alot of value im warning you if you stay here your most likely to receive the same treatment you shouldn't risk it... I forgot to take photos so I cannot supply any evidence but General rating: 1 star

This hotel is located on the sea front in Dover, very close to the ferry port. On the plus side, the rooms are of good quality and of a good standard of clenliness. On the down side, ventilation is a big problem; not the asir conditioning which the hotel will state. The windows have a restricted opening as a safety measure but this means that it is difficult to get a flow of air into the rooms. If you are on the North side, this means noise from the traffic to and from the ferry port.

The room was fine, however, breakfast was appauling. I have been coming here for years and when Table Table ran the restuarant it was well organised and well stocked. Now that Mareston's have taken over and made staff changes and cutbacks it's poorly organised. 1) There was very little out for breakfast and food not replaced when run out 2) no staff around to ask for help, 3) many tables piled up with dirty crockery and not being cleared, 4) some customers having to clear their own tables and re-use plates and 5) food was cold. I pre-paid £11.99 for a few pitiful scraps which was supposed to be classed as a cooked breakfast. Definately would not waste my money on breakfast here again
