"Premier Inn A20 - not what I expected"
OK this is awkward. I don't like giving negative reviews, it is almost impossible for me at times to criticise when I know it may affect the staff in a negative way. So, if any of the staff read this review, please know it is a constructive review. I want to help you improve! Let me set the scene. I had just driven 6 and a half hours to the hotel in one go, to avoid being too late. I arrived at 18:30ish, and was checked in very efficiently. The receptionist was not the most cheerful but they were not unhelpful! I headed to my room and at first glance, nothing seemed to be a problem. The same layout I expect when staying at a Premier Inn. The room was clean and I had no problems there. The room I stayed in was just in need of some TLC though, the walls were tired, wooden trims tired etc. Just needed freshening up. But the biggest issues for me were the noise level and heat level of the room. Now, I had the window open, but I am not including the noise from having the window open in my issue around noise level. The heat was pretty bad, we had a few hot days prior but it had cooled significantly during my stay. Despite having the window open all night, the room temperature stayed at a constant high. The fan just blew hot air around me and allowed me to cook a bit faster. Made for an uncomfortably warm night. Noise wise, I heard every footstep from the room above me. The floor creaked every time they moved, which disrupted me throughout the night, which was a shame. Teamed with the heat issue, this was not ideal. I was very tired the next day Moving on, let me rewind a little bit to the evening, to the restaurant situation. I was starving when I arrived! I had not prebooked and in hindsight I probably should have. However, as I was on my own I thought I'd be squeezed in. But I was not. This is where ordering and taking to your room would be very beneficial, but only if the food is of good quality and doesn't require a long wait for it. Unfortunately there was no table available for me until 20:30 despite there being very little people sat at tables from where I was stood. Also no sounds of talking that you normally hear when a restaurant is fully booked. Anyway, I did end up driving to Mcdonalds to get something quick and ate it in my room. Breakfast the next morning was not great, the selection was good but my whole dish was luke warm and not piping hot. It was still edible however and I ate it all (I'm referred to as a human dustbin when I am hungry) but still disappointing to experience. I think the reason it was not as warm I expected was due to it being served on a cold plate. To conclude, it was not the stay I expected of a Premier Inn and did leave a bad taste in my mouth. I would stay here again, if rooms could be installed with aircon maybe or some method of circulating air more efficiently. Also, if the restaurant would allow food to be ordered and taken to the room would be great! Only if the food is of good quality and doesn't require a long wait for it. Also, if anything can be done about noise from above with regards to the floorboards, that would also be great. (Maybe bring ear plugs if this noise would annoy you) But other than all of that, it was still a comfortable bed, clean enough for me and the same Premier Inn style I have come to expect. Just needs some TLC and some small tweaks to be improved. Also, just make sure to get Wifi, I had no phone signal in the room. Not an issue for me was great to be off grid (some nice peace and quiet) but something to make people aware of.
      "good hotel"
Again you know what you're getting with a premier inn, and this hotels is a good standard of premier inns (the norm) unfortunately the restaurant is very under staffed and the staff work hard to give a good service, please don't think because you've booked on the website and it get accepted that your booking has been confirmed because i booked online and this was confirmed and when i arrived at the beefeater my booking was rejected at the last minute. All the staff at this location whether at the hotel or within the restaurant works very hard and it is noticed.
"The absolutely best place to stay, find dnd have a beer."
The service was brilliant, the prices were really fair, the food served was excellent in quality and size. The room was perfect and clean. The best Premier Inn we have ever stayed in. Simple parking, very conveniently located to local sites.
      "Premier Inn Channel Tunnel"
I always choose Premier Inn when traveling to France via the Channel Tunnel. Their Folkestone hotel is conveniently located just a short drive from the tunnel's check-in, making it an ideal stopover. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and boasts very friendly staff. Plus, there's a restaurant on site, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat. And with plenty of free parking spaces available, you can drive in and out with ease. The Premier Inn Folkestone (Channel Tunnel) hotel offers great-value rooms, free Wi-Fi.
      "Bad smells, Bad times!"
The room smelled so bad I had to resort to using a car airfreshener to mask the odour. A combination of bad drains and damp doesn't make for a great experience. Thank goodness it was only for a few hours overnight before we caught the ferry. Convenient carparking and close proximity to the port the only positives. I have already cancelled our stay on the return journey.
