"Pleasant new hotel"
A nice new hotel with a bright entrance and pleasant room. We slept for one night only so didn’t see much of the hotel or encounter any members of staff. But it was a clean, comfortable room up to the usual Premier Inn standard. It’s a short walk into the city centre.
"Good stay, but with room for improvement"
This was my first stay at Premier Inn, and overall I’m satisfied. It’s a solid hotel, but with a few things that could be improved. ✅Positives: - Great location - Rooms were clean and comfortable - The whole hotel was well-kept - Breakfast was truly “Great” – absolutely delicious - Food and drinks arrived surprisingly quickly, much faster than I expected ❌Negatives: - Not enough towels in the room - No toilet paper provided - The button for the lower ground floor didn’t work, so with luggage we had to go down to reception first, then take the stairs further down - Staff at breakfast didn’t seem very friendly – when I greeted them, they didn’t respond. Small thing, but it does affect the atmosphere - Parking: charged separately and located behind the building. The condition of the car park was poor – overgrown weeds, litter, not really maintained. Not a huge problem for me personally, but as a first impression it really doesn’t look good. Overall, I’d say Premier Inn delivers what it promises – clean, comfortable, convenient – but there’s definitely room for improvement, especially in terms of service and facilities.
"A great stay"
A great stay. Clean refurbished room. Shower over bath was very good although not easy to climb out of if you're small as the bath is strangely high up. Breakfast very good. Veggie bacon and sausage cooked to order which was good. Hotel seems generally short staffed which is a shame but they were very friendly.
"Not a great stay and yet could have been an absolute nightmare "
Well I had a holiday booked for the end of June from my work place and was thinking where I haven't been to in Britain yet and thought I'd give Canterbury a try. Then when looking at hotels I decided to stay with Premier Inn as I had experience in working and staying at Premier Inn hotels and decided it was the best overall option . I first stayed in Peterborough using an hotel as a halfway house the first day the second day I made my journey to Canterbury I used train travel to all destinations from my home town The second day of the holiday I arrived at 11.10am as paid for the earliest check in option then found out the room wasn't ready yet from a helpful member of staff on FOH didn't get name as didn't have name badge on so I waited at FOH lounge until room was ready didn't take long at all happy with the room everything great with the Premier Inn Plus room just a bit tricky using the TV and logging into the WiFi first nothing major Went out for a look around Canterbury and did some shopping for the stay as I was staying at the hotel for 5 nights Then at night I decided to check up with my account as needed to check expenses on train travel and overall shopping then to my shock 😧 discovered that the hotel charged me twice for my stay as I first paid for the stay in June then seen the charge again from the Tuesday arrival Went to reception to sort out with FOH and confirmed the double charged mistake told FOH that if I need that money I would be unavailable to get it until refund was processed which can take anything over 3 working days after checking out which was Sunday morning and then would have been back in my account the following Tuesday gave me a free breakfast when complaining was great breakfast couldn't fault that thanks Was thinking it would have been an absolute nightmare if that was the only money I had access to all week wouldn't have been able to spend it on food / drink / travel or anything else until refund processed would have the hotel given me food and drink and extended my stay in emergency situations until I got money back or would have I been out on the streets asking for handouts for food and what about check out day wouldn't have been able to get back home until Tuesday after Sunday would have been roaming the streets dread to think kinda overthinking it all very upsetting 😞 Anyway I did make the most of my holiday and saw most of the city and Kent coast What really got me down was that I asked FOH for my room to be serviced on Thursday night for Friday as would be out and room needed sorting seen FOH staff member writing down on bedroom genie sheet so I went out early Friday morning and had a tour around Ramsgate and then Margate didn't get back until around 5pm to find my room untouched went downstairs to complain was told can't sort out now and gave me items that I needed replacing not happy Didn't leave dirty items outside the room on Friday as thought it might be a risk to health and safety in walkway bags full of rubbish dirty towels extra so kept in room upset 😭 thought about checking out early and finding another place to stay instead got a little worked up 😞 Left Sunday with email confirmation about the refund and everything else 😞 went back to a stay in Peterborough 😀 Wasn't contacted by the hotel or asked to do a review on Medallia after as it might have affected the spotlight score for the period no real apology or anything kinda feal like I was a cash grab or something I thought about what would have happened if I didn't see double charged mistake would have I been informed about it all ? Or would have someone been enjoying themselves with a nice bonus Could've added more gonna leave it 😔
"Like premier inn but not this one"
My wife and i spent 4 day break unfortunately at Canterbury premier inn . It advertises that there that premier rooms come with perks well the perks i got were 1 day no water left next day no towels no toilet rolls 3rd day no toilet rolls left had to buy are own plus no chocolate left and next day not cleaned at all note on all occasions it needs a visit to reception were the staff to be frank could not care less if you must stop at this hotel i would recommend customers give premier plus a miss you can book a standard room and get lousy service at a cheaper rate as usual the room was excellent when cleaned great wifi .staff unusually for premier were quite morose. we have stayed at 4 premier inn this year and probably 20 over last few year they are usually of a high standard. This hotel needs a crash team from whitbreads in to return it to those standards until the I would give it a swerve.
