"Clean and comfortable stay"
Great hotel. I didn't use the restaurant/bar but had a clean and comfortable room. I'm fussy about cleanliness, e.g. I check the bedding and towels for hairs and stains when I arrive but it was really clean - housekeeping do a great job from what I saw.
I asked in advance for a quiet room not near building generators and was put on the top/fourth floor at the end of the corridor. It was quiet and facing the Cathedral, although the air system did hum at night and there was a bit of traffic noise but most people wouldn't mind or even notice. Only problem was that the end of the corridor was far from the lift so a room that far away might not suit those with reduced mobility.
The room was modern, spacious, had a comfy bed and modern bathroom with bath and shower. The shower didn't quite have the same power that I'm used to with Premier Inn and started off cold but it was effective.
The TV was placed a little further down the wall than the bed so if you enjoy watching TV in bed and want it directly in front of you then you might like to ask if they have a room with the TV right in front of the bed to save neck ache! But it wouldn't have bothered me personally.
I booked via third party and the self check in didn't work. It wasn't easy to get someone to help check in, even when pressing the bell so another customer went to find someone in the restaurant. The staff I encountered were a bit reserved, not exactly smiley, but efficient. At 11.30am on check out day, I think housekeeping tried to enter my room but I had put a chair in front of the door so the door was quickly closed again! I checked out at 11.55am and it was all good.
The taxi phone in reception went through to a good taxi company. The first time they came very quickly, the second time was on a Friday early evening and they were good in warning me that it would take 20-25 minutes to arrive - I needed it asap so declined booking and walked to the taxi rank next to Superdrug (and near Lovisa/Greggs) instead, which had several taxis there and saved time.
Waitrose is just along/over the road (it has a cafe there too), Tesco Express is next door, there's a bus stop in Dover direction outside Waitrose, and the bus station and shops are about a 10 minute walk away in a straight line so it's in a very convenient location.

"Average"
Room good. good location. New style self service check in service. very impersonal. Not sure if it was any quicker as needed a member of staff to help.
Bar service poor and keen to shut bar at 10.40

"A good night's sleep."
Nice location, and only a short walk to the town centre. Even though the establishment is on a busy road junction, you cannot hear the traffic noise. The room was clean, bathroom was also clean, and there was a lovely view of the cathedral from the window. The room was very hot at night, but we worked out how to use the air conditioning unit controls the following morning! The only thing I would complain about is that when you are laying in bed watching the TV, you have to look at an angle, rather than straight in front of you. The picture I have uploaded is from laying on the left hand side of the bed. Breakfast was nice, a large variety of different breakfast items to choose from, both hot and cold.

"Very kind staff, clean rooms, space and walking distance to the city"
The Slovakian Manager Lucia and her team give guests staying in Canterbury tip top service. From check in where extra tea awaits, to trying to help with book in issues, or an extra duvet for the kids, to kind service at the bar, and super clean rooms, they work really hard. The hotels is 4 mins beyond the wall, but Waitrose is next door, and the road running past is blocked out because of double glazing. We enjoyed a huge bath, and a suite, and for £78 a walk from a medieval city it was comfy and there are so many room - 300, this place is unlikely to be full.
Well done Canterbury Premier Inn.
My little boy wanted Coco Pops and I could not face a £10.89 breakfast, but very kindly they gave him a bowl, they did not need to do that, or take luggage till later, but they kept on and on making us feel like we were with a relative.
If you walk down the back of Waitrose rather than the front it is a much nicer older walk, down little streets called things like Love Lane, what is not to love.

"Premier Inn efficient and budget friendly"
Premier Inn is the perfect Hotel if you are looking for a no-frills, efficient and budget friendly option. Their facilities are simple, but exactly what we needed. They have 2 levels of wi-fi, if you need better wi-fi capabilities. They have a meal plan option if you need peace of mind. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They are also always located near tourist attractions and transportation to make the stay accessible for site seeing.
