"Good base for a weekend in Douglas - or a longer stay."
Conveniently location within walking distance of bus stops and shops.
Reception very slow - hard to find call button and then had to waite longed than I'd prefer - despite it being the busiest time for check-ins. One receptionist arrived, it was ok, but I shouldn't have had to wait that long.
Restaurant closed - disappointing as it meant I had to go out during a big storm to get food - I'm diabetic.
Accessible room was spacious and the bed the perfect height for me. However, I had booked and confirmed a room with a low bath, but got a shower, which wasn't even a very good one, more of a dribble. This was very disappointing and other than when I checked in, I couldn't find a single staff member to ask about it.
Bed was clean and comfy, as one would expect. Overall cleanliness was good, although in one corner of the room paint or plaster was peeling off - possible upstairs leak? Also, there was a horrible stain / something stuck onto the curtains as I discovered when I closed them. Not acceptable.
Room face the road, but I didn't hear a single thing. There was also a major storm and, again, it didn't bother me. Lovely, peaceful night.

"Disappointing"
Dirty, stains on walls, veneer peeling, TV Signal poor, no internet at first then so slow pages would not load. The restaurant was closed until further notice due to staff shortages.

"Poor Staffing levels"
I had a long weekend in the Premier inn Douglas which was marred by very low staff levels. On arrival there was no one to speak to at reception and the area is littered with apology posters , there is a bar which closed most of the time because there is only one staff member that can operate the bar and if they are off shift there is no bar . My room was clean except for the dirty sock that I found on the floor. The staff however are to be commended for doing an exceptional job in particular Alex who went above and beyond to deal with any issues he was confronted with. The disappointing thing is the staff are being seriously let down by Premier Inn organisation and they are having to deal with complaints from customers when they have no control of the situation.

"Basic standards not met – no hot water, no heating, and no help"
I stayed at Premier Inn Douglas for two nights (16–18 October) to attend a wedding, and it fell well short of what I’ve come to expect from Premier Inn.
On the Saturday morning there was no hot water due to a hotel fault, so I couldn’t shower before the wedding. The heating in the room didn’t work at all, and staff admitted the hotel has had ongoing problems with its heating system. The bathroom extractor vent was thick with dust, and the restaurant was closed, so we had to go elsewhere to eat.
I raised all of this with the hotel manager during the stay. He couldn’t resolve anything, didn’t seem to know the process, and just told me to contact Guest Relations. Guest Relations then turned down my Good Night Guarantee claim on the grounds that I hadn’t reported the problems at the time, which I had.
The front-of-house staff were friendly, but they’re clearly short-staffed and let down by the building. I’ve stayed here before and noticed it lagged behind other Premier Inns. This visit confirmed it. There are plenty of hotels in Douglas at similar prices, so I’d look elsewhere.

"Dirty & unhygienic"
It didn’t start well - dried blood on duvet, spilled milk down fridge, chair & cupboard, no bath mat….finger marks on the window etc. I could go on with a catalogue of everything but suffice to say we were very disappointed that Premier Inn has sunk this low, especially when we’d paid extra for a premier plus room. There are too many things to list here.
Even after requesting our room to be cleaned the bathroom wasn’t touched for the 3 nights we were there.
Premier Inn isn’t what it was - look elsewhere.
