Douglas (Isle of Man) hotel

The Premier Inn in Douglas, Isle of Man, has a great location and is a convenient base for exploring the island. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful, and I cannot fault them. Unfortunately, the room I was initially given had a strong musty smell, so I had to ask to be moved. This was handled without any problem, although the second room still had a slight musty smell. The hotel is beginning to look a little tired, with carpets showing signs of wear. Musty smells in room. The rooms would benefit from some investment and maintenance, as this is more about the general condition of the hotel than cleanliness. We also ate in the restaurant, where the food was fine, but the wait was quite long. It appeared to be short-staffed, so I would recommend exploring some of the other dining options in Douglas. Overall, the location and staff are definite positives, but the rooms and restaurant experience need improvement.

We have used Douglas Isle of Man since it first opened but will now be our last. This is the first time we have used a premium inn plus room, failures, only 1 bath towel for 2 people very unhygienic, request room replenish and basic tidying, house keeping ignored, staff were very helpful but having to go down 5 flights of stairs for assistance from reception each time we requested, the basics, tea,milk,water, and extra towels is not acceptable.

To say I was delighted with my experience is an understatement. The hotel is close to the city centre and surrounded by amenities. But by far the best part was the staff. A particular shout out to John at Check who was so kind and accommodating. A very positive experience. Top job!
