Watford (Croxley Green) hotel

the breakfast was poor, most items missing including milk and the resteraunt was unclean. I have complained to Premier inn and their response was simply whilst we took your money its not our fault as we outsource the breakfasts and you should take it up with them ( but we wont give you the details )

This was a three night weekend stay with coninental breakfast. A cool welcome at Reception. Our room was clean and tidy. The bedrooms are without air con, fans are provided as standard. A bedside light was missing its bulb. Getting a new bulb took two attempts at Reception. This was a Friday and maintenance cover didn't really step up to the plate. Our first continental breakfast was without juices and bananas. Our breakfast costs were refunded by the main Reception. It was at this point that we were made aware that Brewers Fayre ran the restaurant and Premier Inn staff had no control over how it was run. Saturday and Sunday breakfasts were busy. The restaurant was hugely understaffed on both days with mugs for hot drinks being replaced by paper cups on one ocassion. Tables were left uncleared and the carpet was sticky with greasy food. Beyond disappointing. We have stayed here over the years and the standards have hugely dropped.

Like many we travelled on Bank Holiday weekend. The Premier Plus room was OK However the Bar & Restaurant were an unmitigated disaster!! Insufficient staff. The one lady on Sunday had been brought in from elsewhere and did not know the till system. She did her best but it took 10-30 minutes to order drinks or food. The tables were filthy and the carpet was black & sticky. Glasses, cutlery and crockery dirty! Windows have not been cleaned in years. The carpark was disgusting with overflowing bins and outside tables only good enough for a bonfire. The food was OK although could be hotter. The Coffee machine was out of order so Coffee was make it yourself with a spoon of Nescafe! There has clearly been no investment in Brewers Fayre or Beefeater for years as Premier Inn are closing them. However they are not good enough. We use Premier Inn extensively but we will not book a Premier Inn in future which has a Brewers Fayre or Beefeater.

Room was far too hot, the fan provided made very little difference to the build up of heat in the room. No Air Con. Very uncomfortable stay overnight. We should have slept in the corridor as it had air con! Ate at the bar, wish we hadn't - poor quality food, dirty & sticky tables , we really felt sorry for the few staff doing their best. It needs a thorough deep clean. Stomach bug for both of us the next day, which mean't we missed the game we had travelled down for. An awful weekend as a result of the one night stay.

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The hotel had no air conditioning, and the fans provided were not sufficient to keep the room comfortable, particularly during the warmer weather. Another issue was the lack of food and drink service after 9pm. After a long journey to our destination, it was frustrating to find that nothing was available, meaning we had to go elsewhere to eat. The general cleanliness of the hotel's main and communal areas was also below the standard we expected and is in need of significant improvement. The only real positive aspect of this hotel is its location. It is conveniently situated with easy access to the Tube, making travel to Wembley straightforward and convenient. Overall, while the location is excellent, the lack of basic amenities and the poor standard of cleanliness mean I would not choose to stay here again. This is particularly disappointing because the hotel used to be a lovely place to stay. Sadly, it now feels as though it has been neglected over the past few years, and the decline in standards is noticeable.
