"Omar on Night Shift ruined this hotel stay for us"
I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received at Premier Inn Watford Central, particularly from a member of staff named Omar. What should have been a straightforward and relaxing stay was completely overshadowed by his attitude and behaviour.
Earlier in the evening, we were actually served by a fantastic member of staff named Lexi, who was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, she even warned us that the night shift staff were known to be difficult, which sadly turned out to be completely accurate.
From the moment we approached the bar later on, Omar came across as rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. Instead of treating guests with basic courtesy and professionalism, his tone was insulting and made us feel unwelcome. Hospitality staff are supposed to create a comfortable environment for paying customers, but this experience was the exact opposite.
The most frustrating part was that the bar was closed before the advertised closing time. There was no polite explanation or apology — just abrupt behaviour and an attitude that suggested customers were an inconvenience. If a venue advertises certain operating hours, guests should be able to rely on them. Closing early without proper communication is unprofessional enough, but combining that with poor customer service made the situation even worse.
What stood out most was the contrast between Lexi’s excellent customer service earlier in the evening and the behaviour we experienced later on. One member of staff made us feel welcome and valued as guests, while the other completely ruined the atmosphere with unnecessary hostility and poor attitude.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience genuinely left a bad impression. Management should seriously look into how guests are being treated during the night shift and ensure staff understand the importance of professionalism, communication, and basic manners.

"A warm experience"
My son and I travelled from Sydney Australia to the UK in January 2026. Watford was our “base” from which we explored parts of England .
The staff at the Premier Inn were warm, friendly and welcoming. They provided us with excellent service and were eager to provide us with assistance when we needed it .
The rooms were modest but warm and inviting and we enjoyed the cosy feel.
We particularly like forward to the very generous breakfasts each morning (in particular, the “Weetabix”, the UK equivalent of our “Weetbix” back home).
Overall our experience was extremely positive and we were able to access the train station to London and Watford High Street very easily. We also enjoyed a match at Vicarage Road. The Premier Inn was excellent value for the money we paid.

"Lovely little stay"
Had a one night stay here last night. Good first impression with friendly reception staff, room was clean and spacious with everything you need in there. Location good, everywhere walkable or a cheap taxi ride to. Breakfast was the best part! Lots to choose from, all cooked nicely. And the customer service from James and Lexi was superb - started our day with a smile!

"Wouldn’t stay here again."
Good location for access to Watford centre and plenty of car parking in the unsecured car park at the front of the hotel.
Not aesthetically appealing from the outside.
Room was very tired with water marks all over the flooring and damage to the bathroom walls, fittings and flooring which made it feel dirty. Bedroom was very basic but compared to other premier inns we have stayed in I was very disappointed with the standards of this hotel.
