London Elstree / Borehamwood hotel

A great hotel in some regards. Clean room and comfy bed. No outside noise. There are some issue however: Over the last couple of weeks the lift on the 5 th floor remains out of order. You can get off there but not on there (the call button does not work). One lift is often out of order completely too. This was really frustrating when calling a lift, the non functioning one opens its doors but then will not go anywhere and because there is a lift there the other lift will not come until someone uses it to come down. At least the stairs are keeping me fit. The breakfast is adequate. There is a good range but the eggs on the cooked breakfast are best avoided in my honest opinion. Although a little tired it still offers good value for money and I would still recommend it.

I have stayed here a number of times over the years, and there is a reason I keep coming back. It may be a Premier Inn, but what makes this particular hotel stand out for me is the people who work here. The rooms have always been clean, comfortable and exactly what I need after a long or busy day in London. You can tell that the staff take pride in their work and genuinely want the people staying here to feel comfortable. The ladies downstairs in the restaurant, kitchen and bar are also absolutely lovely. Everyone are always so friendly, kind and helpful. They honestly make the place feel even more welcoming. I also genuinely hope the staff here are paid well because they work very, very hard and they deserve it. Life can be hectic enough, and even coming to London can sometimes be tiring and stressful, so just knowing that I have this place where I can come back, relax, have a clean room, some peace and friendly people around really makes a difference. It is just nice to know there is a place you can rely on every single time. On this particular stay I was probably a little more grumpy than usual because I was full of a cold and not feeling my best, which probably made me appreciate even more how nice it is to come back somewhere familiar where everything just works and the people are kind. I don’t normally write reviews this long, but after staying here several times I felt the staff deserved some recognition. It is very easy to complain when something goes wrong, but I think it is equally important to say something when people consistently do a good job. Thank you to everyone who works here, and especially to Maria and the team downstairs. You make a bigger difference to people’s stays than you probably realise. I will definitely be back ❤️

This is ok of if you want a basic place to stay. Breakfast was good. Beds are comfy. Room was small for a family room. The hotel looks a bit depressing
