"A mixed review"
The first night I slept okay but I didn't sleep on the second night, the fire door directly outside the door to my room (107) that should have been on an automatic closer linked to the fire alarm system, was banging all night as the maglock had released it.
When I tried to open the curtains, the push pole that had the net curtain up fell down and I noticed there was no rubber end on it to keep it up, there were marks on the wall where it had fallen many times previously.
The decoration in the room was very tired with several areas of paint missing, and there were stains on the chair which we tried to avoid whilst sitting.
Every day at breakfast it was a buffet so dishes stacked up on the tables as people finished cereal and moved on to toast etc, on the first morning I thought the man was just not very good at his job as we were trying to eat amongst all the dirty dishes and he just stood at the entrance doing nothing but wait to tick people entering the restaurant off his list... given that we had breakfast that day at 7.30am, that was barely anybody. On the second morning I realised it must be some sort of staff protocol as we had a different member of staff in there who also only took plates when the table had been vacated, despite people struggling to eat in the available space between empty dishes.
In the bathroom, when I'd finally managed to get my leg over the high side of the bath to get in with no handrail, there was no mat in the bath to stop people slipping when showering and the only shower option was an overhead weak waterfall shower which I struggled to wash my hair with.
When I checked out on the final morning, I explained to the lady working in reception that the door had kept me awake all night and it needs somebody to fix the automatic closer and rather than offer any apology or compassion whatsoever she said a few times that the door wouldn't be able to close as it was on a fire closer...I gave in and left in the end as I was too tired to argue about it. I actually wasn't going to leave a review until the lady on reception was so poor at responding to my lack of sleep, just a simple 'I'm sorry to hear that happened and I will make sure it's fixed' would have sufficed.

"No air con in 2026 is a disgrace"
No air con during this summer, do I need to say more? Temperature in the room on thermostat between 30-32.5 degrees for the entirety of a 2 night stay.
Complained to reception and was given the response “we’re full I can’t move you, and it’s on the website that we have no air con”. First, it wouldn’t matter if you moved me to another room they’d all have been too hot. Second, it’s an outright LIE that it’s on the website, it simply isn’t. You get a confirmation of booking (not after you’ve paid, 24 hours before your stay so it’s too late to change anything) where it’s noted at the bottom about the air con.
Needless to say I did well to get 4 hours of sleep over 2 nights staying here. I complained to Premier Inn using their “guaranteed great night of sleep” lie, and they refused to refund or compensate at all, didn’t even acknowledge that they’d done anything wrong. Needless to say I won’t be staying in any premier inn ever again. Disgusting and I feel like I have been conned out of my money. Enjoy the £216 you got for this stay, you won’t get any more of my money.

"The room was like a sauna"
Staff were good, despite how much flack they were getting from customers, the room was ok size, double bed in the room was a good size, and the buffet breakfast was reasonable. It's generally a cheap and cheerful type place, you get what you pay for. BUT - the rooms are woefully inadequate when it comes to the heatwaves (mid-Jul stay)!! It just ruined all the other aspects of our stay, as when you can't cool down adequately and are often getting crappy sleep because of it, that's the memory that sticks. There is no air-con, but more than that, there is just no air flow. So once the rooms are hot, they take forever to cool down. They seriously need to do something about it.

"Wouldn't stay again!"
The hotel was OK but the bedroom was so hot I had to go outside until I was so tired I knew I would be able to sleep.
There was air con in the room but it wasn't working and although they did provide 2 fans, they just blew hot air around the room.
